About
pre-campaign
As a baby Reggie was cared for mostly by a neighbor, Petunia Rohd. Petunia loved babies and was in the process of adopting her own, and saw that Caleb was struggling to handle the sudden loss of his wife with a newborn and a farm to care for. For the beginning of his life Reggie saw Petunia as his mother, not particularly caring that he'd had another mother before. After Petunia's disappearance Caleb shut out everyone for himself and for Reggie in a misguided attempt at sparing them more loss. Reggie grew up on a farm and only knew life on the farm. He worked long hours from a very young age and is used to strenuous and consistent chores. As he grew older he became dissatisfied with the idea of being nothing but a farmer and wanted to study magic, like his mother did. Caleb brutally shut this down at every turn.
post-campaign
With his closest friend Shuck now reduced to nothing more than a scarecrow again, Reggie makes up his mind to study under a wizard and bring him back. Caleb allows Reggie to return to Noachis with Melelani and August and Ester Sorrell to find a teacher. He works tirelessly to bring Shuck back and only when he is able to does he return to Ft. Orbyn, where he and his childhood friend Julie reconnect and take her pastry business on the road.
Relationships
Caleb Caldwell [ father ]
Caleb keeps Reggie close to home so he's almost all he has. Despite this, he has begun to resent this tight leash his father has him on and has begun acting out, wanting the freedom to pursue his own interests. He wants to know more about his mother and about magic, but knows these subjects are sore for his dad. Reggie has his issues but in the end he does truly love his father and wants him to move on and find happiness.
Shuck [ brother ]
Shuck has always fascinated Reggie and was the constant motivator in his desire to learn magic. Shuck has been around for Reggie's whole life and has been something of a babysitter and a brother. Shuck has always been his confidant that he went to whenever things in his life were upsetting him. He tries to keep Shuck put together, but does not know how to care properly for him as a construct. He wants to learn this as well.
Celeste Michaels [ mother ]
Reggie was less than one year old when Celeste left. He is not aware of any of the horrible things she's done, just that the townsfolk never held her in very high regard. Despite this he wants to learn more about her, for his own closure.
Julie Sorrell [ best friend ]
Being the only two kids in town at the time, Reggie and Julie sought each other out to have similar company. Julie caught on to Reggie's introverted nature very quickly and used it to drag him along on her crazy schemes, most often using him as a hapless taste tester for her magical pastries. Reggie has a crush on her but is too afraid to mess up their friendship by admitting to it.
Punica [ step-mother ]
In life Punica was a babysitter to Reggie for his first four years of life, so he saw her more his mother than Celeste, whom he could not remember. He was too young to properly understand her disappearance, but grieved for her his whole life. He meets Punica when she and her party come to town to visit August and quickly finds himself under her protective wing. Once she and his father begin their relationship she reveals her previous identity as Petunia and Reggie is overjoyed to have her back (in a way).
