Personality
Hardened from a world that showed him little kindness from a young age, Tomas is slow to trust and often quick to anger and snark. He's fairly quiet and prefers being alone (except for the company of his sister Annaleigh and eventually his husband Cyrus) and tends to be a bit standoffish. But, he really does care a lot more than he seems.
Skills
SKILL: MAGIC
Strength:
Tomas is incredibly skilled and talented with magic. He mutliclasses as both a wizard and a rogue, but for all the worth of his stealth like abilities, he still more often than not relies on his magical prowess. Even the archery he learned as a rouge, he's adapted where instead of a physical arrow, he creates an arrow of light and magic and shoots that as he draws his bow. He prides himself on not only mastering several advanced spells, but also adapting and somewaht creating new spells as well. However, a bad mix of his ingenuity, pride, and impulsiveness, has at times lead to disaterous (sometimes nearly deadly...) results from him experimenting with magic and its bounds.
SKILL: MUSIC
Strength:
A skill that would surprise most, Tomas is surprisngly good at singing. Not enough to probably really become a professional by any means (not that he'd want to), but also not bad for someone with practically no training. He got most of his practice singing for Anna simple songs to try and comfort her when they were younger. Now, if it's private enough, he may sing, but it's not very common as it's something he's rather shy about.
SKILL: STEALTH
Strength:
As a child, Tomas was trained to be a child soldier with his sister. His role in particular was often to be a spy of sorts. He got particuarly good at stealth, being able to hide in plain sight and almost melt into shadows - the irony being this particular skill backfired on their captors. The very skill they made him proficient in, is what largely helped him and Anna escape in the end. Although now he is still rather skilled in it, he prefers not to use stealth as much. He'd rather be seen and use intimidation tactics to scare people than hiding. He'd never admit it, but he largely now has a bit of a fear and anxiety about being invisible. He just wants to be seen even if he is a loner.
SKILL: FIGHTING
Strength:
Fighting, especially thinking critically and stratgeically about fighting, is not Tomas's strong suit. He's good at causing pain and big blasts of magical attacks, but other than the basic being able to throw a punch, he's not particualrly the best at actual fighting. But make no mistake - he's very scrappy and impulsive and is likely to START fights and things, he just doesn't really know how to do it in a way he won't also get hurt.
Background
From a young age, Tomas was raised with his twin sister, Annaleigh, to be a child soldier. After countless scars, fights, and near death encounters, Anna and Tomas somehow managed to escape after lots of trial and error. They lived on the road together for a while, travelling from city to city, learning magic and various skills in exchange for doing menial tasks. Eventually they settled in and created a stable home for themselves and not too far after, opened up their home to other children who were in a similar situation as their younger selves. Their lives seemed to finally be more on track for once, until Anna became gravely ill. Not one to give up so easily, Tomas, used to being around death and the works his whole life, tracked down the people who he had often seen throughout his life whenever someone died, and followed them through a portal into a new realm. Finding himself in the palace of Death, he made quick work, drawing his weapon and threatening the life of the young apprentice god, Death, in exchange for his sister's life. The current god of death, Dabria, impressed with the young tiefling's skill, spared Anna's life and instead recruited Tomas and Anna into The Order of Fate.
There, Tomas met Cyrus, another member of The Order. The two quickly took to each other, and not long after started a secret friend's with benefits type relationship. But, after an experimental spell gone wrong, that almost blinked Tomas from existence itself, Cyrus realized his feelings were a lot deeper for his partner. Tomas, not used to being in safe and healthy realtionships and not really knowing what that meant was left unprepared and unsure. But, through patience and time, the two just grew more and more in love, evenutally even getting secretly married. Secret relationships are all well and good, but they do become more difficult when children are involved... soon after getting married, Tomas wound up pregnant and not long after, they welcomed their daughter, Pallock into their little family. Unfortunately, the happiness wouldn't last long... Cyrus and Tomas only got to really be fathers for about two years when the gods they were to look after began systematically killing each other, then killing and maiming again when they rejuvenated. Not wanting their young daughter to have to grow up in such a strange, dangerous environment, they quietly dropped her off at Cyrus's grandmother's house, keeping it secret like they did everything in their relationship (though this time, not even their faithful confidant Anna knew what happened to her...). It was never meant to be forever, just until things got better. But things never got better- Tomas, along with Jon and Ronald (the trio of guardians), died on a reconnaissance mission, aftering falling into what would become his tomb. Luckily, with the overwhelming sense of unfinished business and his desperate want and need to see Cyrus, Pallock, and Anna again, he returned back as a ghost. Unluckily, he would be stuck in that pit for thousands upon thousands of years, slowly forgetting all his memories as the years crept on by....
Story
On a dark and stormy Harvest Festival night, the long lingering ghosts were discovered by a small group of adventurers, Winona, Emery, Fenella, and Jinx. Jon, the leader of their little group, somehow managed to convince the living to allow them to partially possess them and just let them somewhat experience life and living again, even if vicariously. And so, after an eternity, the ghosts finally left the pit, with Tomas now living in the head and mind of a certain Emery Alavir - the antithesis of this brooding, angry, scoffing spirit. Although it takes some time, eventually Tomas warns up to his nerd, and softens up some himself. He also slowly starts regaining his memories and all the pain that that holds..
