Suzume

Suzume is very caring and nurturing, and she treats everyone like a child of hers. However, when crossed, she can be quite fearsome. She is generally (like most cats) found sleeping in strange places. 

Suzume was a wild cat on Enoshima that Suigetsu took in when he first moved there. Pluvio, Suigetsu's mate, tended to be working outdoors in the gardens most of the time, leaving Suigetsu alone indoors, growing bored and stir crazy. Taking care of a cat seemed like a healthy way to spend his time and keep himself distracted. While she is a family cat, and even the pair's daughters Yasuka and Mikako adore her, she is mainly Suigetsu's companion and has the best relationship with him. 

She currently has one litter of kittens - Shiori, Miaki, and Pocha - although they are all grown. Little Pocha, the only male, was taken in by their youngest daughter Yasuka, who dotes on him. Shiori and Miaki remain on Enoshima with their mother, living mostly like feral shrine cats.
