Is prone to intensely negative thoughts, confuses times, places, people (tends to get things jumbled in general); extremely forgetful. Dealt with suicidal behaviour in the past. Refuses to take medication that is meant for the mind.

Powers/Abilities

Receives "visions" through touch of people, objects or places. For people, it must be skin to skin contact. These visions can include anything from past memories of the individuals, memories from people who walked in places, touched objects, etc. He also has the ability to see into the future the same way. What he sees cannot be controlled and he is left with whatever he is shown. If touching an object owned by a deceased individual, he can have visions come through as long as the deceased have not been dead for more than, give or take, eight months.

Background/Story

Louis grew up as an odd, withdrawn child to a single mother. He was wrongfully diagnosed with schizophrenia and autism at the tender age of five. This was due to his bouts of talking to himself, hearing voices, seeing things, etc. He was thought to be autistic due to his preference in being alone, inability to properly communicate with 'real' people (or lack of wanting to) and stimming behaviour. School was horrible and his mother couldn't afford the time to homeschool him or any special education in a private school. Louis was bullied endlessly for many things but it was mainly his "visions." He scared the children, telling them of future fates once touched and even current happenings in their life. On more than one occassion, he was beat so badly that he needed hospital care. Louis eventually graduated, managing to keep his grades above average.

After experiencing the turmoil of his teen years, he thought a private tutor would be a good career path. Louis would be able to be one on one with children, helping them grow and learn at their own pace. If he could offer his help at a decreased cost, he would; allowing special children the privacy of their homes to grow without fear. He supossed it helped his inner child but it felt good to help others. He jumped into this role a couple of years after high school without any form of education degree as it wasn't needed. He began with smaller children and then eventually took teens under his wing. During this time in his early adulthood, Louis saw a news report on vigilantes with special abilities. This spurred him to do "testing" on his schizophrenia. He stopped his medications, started trying to connect his possible abilities with a good way to prove that they existed.

He paid money to watch psychics help others but was disappointed when they turned out to be frauds, not really helping any of the desperate families, only giving what words they believed needed to be heard. He would go to these families and offer the truth without any cost. Most of this behaviour was met with agression. People felt creeped out, attacked, taken advantage of. But if they did decide to do the things he said, they were met with success. People would call back crying and thanking him. They'd find their missing loved ones, revelations from deceased relatives and even a simple answer to whether their significant other was cheating. After helping out the police on several occassions, he witnessed opportunities to make more of a difference. Inspired by more news reports of caped crusaders in nighttime hours, he fashioned himself a suit and took up rigorous training in hand to hand styles such as Judo and Krav Maga. The only weapon he'd carry would be a tactical whip as he'd prefer to use his hands and only when necessary.

Louis was in charge of tutoring a child by the name of Malcolm Ash, who was about fourteen when they were first introduced. The boy eventually would grow suspicious of Louis' behaviour; eccentricity, varying degrees of injury and having to leave at odd times. Malcolm was obsessed with the notion of "heroes" and was determined to see if his tutor could be one. After following him home several times, he eventually witnessed Louis leaving his residence in an odd black outfit, which was enough proof for the young man. When Louis next came to work, Malcolm threatened him that if he didn't tell him everything, he would tell his mother, a well known talkshow host. Louis, left with few options, told him begrudgingly. Mal accused him of having powers and Louis, now too far in to lie, told him of his abilities. After placing a hand on the boy's forehead to prove himself, something he would not let himself do before, he witnessed Malcolm's believed dead younger brother, alive and well. This instilled new hope and determination in the boy and he begged Louis to teach him how to fight and to protect himself, hoping to become what his brother needed him to be. Louis agreed but had one condition. Malcolm was not to go out as a hero until at least eighteen years of age, as he'd no longer be able to stop him. Malcolm agreed. The two became quite a pair over the years, relying on each other more often as time went on and creating a close bond.

Louis' eccentric behaviour became worse and he'd sometimes find himself in situations that Mal would need to help with. Louis refuses to take medication as it messes with his powers so is left with his natural mind in all its bungled glory. Malcolm watches over him in his million dollar house in California, asking Louis to live with him after a few worrying incidents. The two regularly go out and watch over major cities in California, occassionally helping the League or any other smaller factions who call for aid.

Louis is currently taking a break from crime fighting and tutoring as his mental health has gone downhill significantly within the last year. Malcolm worries about leaving him alone too long and is currently trying to find a way to help Louis without any state intervention.

Trivia

• He sometimes thinks his outfit is too scary but feels he couldn't change it to anything better.
• He hopes to one day visit the Palace of Versailles.
• His mother has advanced dimentia and lives in a special place to be cared for. Louis visits her but hasn't touched her in years, afraid of the fluctuating dream state in her head.

Personality

Pensive and quiet. Detached from his surroundings and lost in his head space most of the time. Incredibly kind and loving when you get him to open up. Self sacrificing and doesn't need much to be happy if only he could get control of his emotions. Tends to say things that don't make sense to others and ramble to himself. Incredibly focused when he has goals and lost when he has none.
