Noelani Dougal

Noelani is a free spirit above all else. She has very few limits, resulting in her being incredibly expressive, especially in her body language. At the same time, she is skilled in faking emotions. While it’s always obvious which emotion she’s showing, but it’s hard to tell whether or not this emotion is genuine or not. Noelani also likes being the center of attention. All of this seems to instilled by her adoptive father, who had her participate in his swindling acts. Another quirk instilled by her father is her tendency to be too greedy for her own good. While she’s not one to flat out steal from someone without provocation, She can’t resist taking a risk if there's money or similar valuables involved.

As a free spirit, Noelani is extremely extroverted, not having any issues approaching strangers. That said, she relies a lot on her gut feeling when she first meets someone. She innately doesn’t want to judge others, but her background has made it clear that she still needs to maintain a certain level of caution. Despite her caution, she still handles her interactions with others with a lot of confidence, displaying her expressive emotions without issue.

This all results in Noelani being and exceptionally flashy rogue. While able to be stealthy, she prefers challenging opponents head on to a duel with her pair of shortswords, almost dancing around the battlefield as she does.

Charlatan

Noelani was abandoned by her parents as a baby, child of a Djinni woman and Shifter man. Instead she ended up being picked up by a yuan-ti conman who raised her and taught her his craft. They travelled a lot while Noelani was growing up, even using Noelani's innate spellcasting to their advantage. Despite Noelani at first just being used as a tool to manipulate, her adoptive father grew to care about her and they became a tight knit family. Usually they travelled to a town, sold their fake magical bogus, and left before they could face the consequences.

However, at some point, they ended up getting caught after ripping off a nobleman who wanted revenge. Noelani's adoptive father was captured and emprisoned, however Noelani managed to esscape, fleeing as far away as she could, and deciding to lay low until she was no longer sought after.
