Mako is a cheerful, if not a bit wild octoling, who spend most of his adolecence in Kamabo co. being experamented on with bioware and resilance tests against sanitization.
He has several muscle augmentations which makes him capable of dual weilding Dynamo rollers with the same percision and strength of most weilding one. He dreamed of escape almost every day.
Once he finally escaped to the surface he wants to try literally everything he can and catch up with life. He will never turn down trying something new. Especially if its a bit weird!
PERSONALITY
Wild, reckless, and 'carefree' are a few descriptors others have given Mako when meeting him. He wants to spend his time doing everything he can possibly do even to the point of exausting himself. Like if you plan on doing something completely off the wall and dangerous, expect him to come bounding over asking for a time and place. You can count on him to be there for literally anything and everything. He is a loyal friend and loves just as recklessly.
Mako also uses this busy schedualing to keep himself from having flashbacks or really thinking or processing what happened to him in Kamabo Co. His motto being if he's busy having fun finally living his life, why should he give his memories of the past the time of day? This behavior will eventually get him into some trouble.
WIP!!!! STORY
KAMABO CO.
For as long as Mako can remember he lived in the deepsea. He has very fuzzy memories of having a family at some point but his earliest clear memory was chaos, ink flying everywhere, someone holding him close, and being slipped into a box to hide from the invading Kamabo forces. It was so loud around him and dark in the box. He doesn't know how long he was stuck in that box, but eventually it was broken appart. He remembers looking up at a stranger who picked him up swiftly and took him away.
He was given the tattoo of his number, No.9119 and told this was his new name by an older Octarian woman, No.3151, who told him that he would be very important in the advancement of thier kind. He would be a hero, "Don't you want to be a hero No.9119?". Being a kid of course he wanted to help others! What kid wouldn't want to be a hero to all octarian kind?
Over the years, he threw himself into combat training and was eager to please No.3151, or Envy as he heard was her real name. He wanted to do good, and as he did do good he was praised and given the reward of 'special medicine'. After taking these medicines the young octoling felt ill but Envy assured him he was doing so well and that he was close to being ready for a new 'test'.
The day soon came for the new test, No.3151 told No.9119 that this would be a long process but she "Just knew she had picked the right octoling" and that he was so special and her "Perfect subject". Mako felt scared but was determined he could handle whatever she wanted from him...
Mako regreted not fighting back against this, since it resulted in months and months of surgeries and suspension. It was a year or so later before he was 'test' ready again.

RELATIONSHIPS
Flare found him in the garbage, chowing down on anything vaguely edible. He kindly took the dumpster goblin in, letting him live and recover in his and Trina's apartment for awhile while he was in the hospital. Helped Mako gain some social skills and even reunited him with his friend Omei. Mako relies on Flare for a lot and he doesn't know what he'd do without him.
Audrey and Mako met during the few times Mako was strapped for cash and was doing Salmon Run's for Grizzco. During the fight Audrey in full on Salmon form, tried to splat Mako in the usual Maws way of chomping down on the octoling. She was surprised that Mako was able to hold her mouth open and not get splatted. They were locked like this for almost an hour before calling a truce. Audrey, although angry about Salmon Runs, was impressed with Mako and they honestly became fast enough friends. Mako quit doing Salmon Runs because of this friendship
Mako met Omei in the underground while Omei was recovering someone close to him. Mako was heavily sanitized at the time and didn't know why he felt the need to follow him so badly but he did and after a couple of tight scrapes, he got separated from Omei and his rescue effort. Mako was very sad about this. Eventually they reunited after Mako's stay in the hospital on the surface. Mako loves spending time with one of his first friends even though sometimes he shocks his friend with his more- Abnormal habits...
Katrina was a big part of Mako's rehabilitation when he reached the surface, letting him stay in her and Flare's shared apartment. He had a brief crush on her like he does most people but obviously got over. He loved to hear her sing and she instilled in him an even bigger love for idols.
Mako met Sixer a few times during childhood, the inkling had been enrolled in the Kamabo testing as well and they had a friendly relationship. She was Mako's first friend ever. Mako doesn't remember, but he saved her from being modified by Envy. He was severely punished since the inkling escaped. Sixer remembers and is extremely grateful.
Envy kept Mako captive for most of his life, she was like a mother to him... He wanted her approval so badly and he did get it, but in order to get it he had to do terrible things- It was extremely unhealthy and she tortured him. He doesn't remember half of it do to the many sani baths he went through... She is looking for him and Mako doesn't know if he'd be able to deny her if she asked him to come home.
