As an egg, Azmortos was abandoned and left near a small community of superstitious dragons. When he hatched, his little body was decorated with red crescents which made the elders of the town believe he was a gift from the Ancestors. After all, he resembled the bright red moon Adrano, the moon of health. Azmortos was trained from a young age and given all sorts of special treatment in hopes of raising up a dragon that would grant immortality to those around him. All friendships and relationships from his young to adult life were to use him, it was believed simply by being around him and kind to him you would be given good health and fortune. The Ancestors had really blessed them, and they had to keep him all to themselves.
When he found out he was being used, he unleashed a fury of anguish as his world view was shattered and fled the now broken town. He no longer knew who he could trust, and with his powers at their peak under Adrano itself he was able to use his magic to summon creatures of reds and greens. They were mindless beasts of Haunt magic and only obeyed him, which satisfied him. He lead his creatures to attack the place he once called home until eventually, he completely wiped it out and any survivors fled. When tales spread about him from the survivors, he only grew more angry and hurt. Now he knew he could never trust others anymore, and would lash out at the entire world. With his new army and incredible power, every night that Adrano was a full moon, he would unleash attacks on the world to punish them for using him.
Extra info:
-Adrano does not actually grant him any special powers, but because he grew up believing it was the case he thinks it makes him stronger.
-He had his army steal a few dragon eggs in hopes of "raising them right". It was the only way he could trust them.
