Character Lore for Anitta

In a system filled with twenty-one other parts , Anitta is one that truly stands out above all the rest  .  Sassy , cutesy , dramatic , fiery , and downright scary sometimes , Anitta ( nicknamed Annie by most of the of other alters ) is a pop-star who dreams of life on stage and under the spotlight , longing to perform and be on top with the others   .  At only 22 years old in terms of her headspace age , Anitta’s existence within the system came from years of abuse to her system’s host , Valentina , has suffered   .  She formed when Valentina was only 10 years old   .  Anitta’s love of body glitter is one that can easily rival her love of the color pink and bubble tea , always pairing it with every outfit she wears when fronting    .   With a Y2K and hoochie mamacita aesthetic , all her costumes , outfits , jewelry , and makeup easily reflect her audacious personality and risqué demeanor    .  She’s also unapologetically herself no matter how anyone else is to feel about it , giving the alter a confident air about herself that some often describe as infectious , with others following in her serene and gung ho footsteps    .

As Valentina had been experiencing abuse of all kinds from her own blood mother since the day she was born , she had many alters that formed before Anitta was ever created , accepting all of them as her new family since her real life one wasn’t all that well rounded   .  Valentina often found herself escaping into her fantasies and in her dreams , where her life was better and nothing like the Hell she had to experience in her day to day life , turning to this escapism almost daily .   And while she had many fantastical realms she could daydream about , like being a pilot or a superhero , there was one idea she liked more than any other ; one so vivid that it didn’t even seem like fantasy  .  That very dream , was to be a pop star   .

At the ripe age of 9 , Valentina began singing almost everyday whenever her mother went to the store , humming and harmonizing along to her favorite songs on the radio , and any song she had on her cds   .   Whenever there were events at school that involved singing , like plays or musicals , she was always there front and center due to the strong vocals she possessed despite being so young   .  She was often praised by her peers and teachers for her voice , and her easy ability to convey intense emotions through song , all of which only fueled her want to perform    .  Valentina never sung in front of her mother despite how often her teachers would talk about how great of a voice she had to her , mostly because she didn’t want her dreams to be crushed    . 

Her entire pop star persona was everything that Anitta would later become when she formed a year later ; someone who loved pink , glitter , all things girly , and anything fluffy   .  Just like Anitta , her on-stage alter ego was sweet and charming , but she wasn’t afraid to get spicy or scrappy either   .   She adored watching other superstars perform and learned from their performances , even mimicking the ones she saw on TV to build her own ideas for imaginary stage sets and productions   .  Her love of being a singer and pop star ran SO deep that she even bought a microphone to sing along with in her room , even bringing it with her to school for talent shows and other events   .  At another point , Valentina spent the allowance her father once gave her to buy an outfit from the store that she felt reflected her musical persona , one that was flashy and loud while still staying true to herself and remaining age appropriate    . 

However , one day after returning home from the supermarket early , Katrina , her mother , had found her in her bedroom innocently listening to music and doing her own dances , all of which were harmless in every way    .   And yet , her mother viewed what she was doing as … blasphemous , outrageous , a display of bad behavior , and some type of rebellion against the woman she was    .  Yet , she had no reason to feel this way ; every child had this exact pattern of playful behavior at least once or twice , but it offended her and drove her mad   .  She had no real rhyme or reason to be as agitated as she was , and yet the same pattern of blind rage that lead to her beating her daughter yet again was something Valentina had unfortunately grown used to over the years   … 

Still , her consistent abuse didn’t stop her daughter from performing whenever she wasn’t around to witness it ; Valentina was headstrong and determined to be a star no matter what   .   Even her father , Félix , who was the only good parent she had , encouraged her to keep on dancing and singing no matter what her mother thought   .  He would watch her sing and dance , even signing her up for dance classes so she could improve on her own time , only to be forcefully pulled out of said classes once Katrina found out    .  This was partially due to their continuously decreasing income , and Katrina being generally not supportive of her dream    .  The consistent abuse she suffered at home mixed with her repeated instances of sexual abuse she dealt with at the hands of adults around her resulted in her using her imagination to escape and disassociate from the harsh reality that was her life    .  

In this world , she could be anyone she wanted to be but herself ; and she wanted to be a Popstar    .  Every time she was broken out of her daydreams she would fall into a deep depression , which caused her to develop worse self harming tendencies than she had when she was younger , as she primarily stabbed herself with her pencils before cutting past age 12   .   The therapist she was seeing at the time recommended that she find a healthy way to cope with her troubles at home beyond just disassociating , but Valentina struggled to break out of the routine she had unknowingly developed for herself    .  

When Anitta formed , Valentina hardly even noticed that she had taken the front when she did since their personalities were almost similar to one another , viewing her as an extension of herself   .  Anitta acted as an outlet for her to express herself regardless of who watched , and challenged those who tried to stop her or her host from being who they were meant to be   .  She made sure to protect her spirit and keep her hopes and dreams alive no matter how old she got , with this pattern of protection still present in her adult years , showing that all of Annie’s hard work wasn’t in vain   .   Nowadays , Anitta likes to sit back , relax , watch a good movie and some of her favorite music videos , alongside a glass of champagne and her pet Pomeranian , Dorinda   .  She’s in a very openly loving relationship with Mike’s system alter , Vito , and often enjoys fronting just to try and see him when she can   .  And if she can’t , Valentina usually passes a message to him through Mike if he’s available    .
