Backstory
Back when King Azulos was in power, he was nearly usurped by his scheming twin brother, Frostolas. Frostolas was a very jealous man, who envied that his brother was given the throne over him. So, he planned to arrange the untimely demise of his brother at the hands of an ice demon. A group of adventurers seeking to unite the six kingdoms banded together, and helped Azulos retain his throne, and banish Frostolas from the kingdom for his treachery. Taking only his book of spells and a set of arctic mage gear, he set off for one of the tallest mountains nearby, and began to climb. He did not rest, and he did not waver. Losing a hand to frostbite, and his mouth frozen open after clenching the book in his teeth, his hatred flooded his mind and seemed to keep him going. But then he realized something.
It didn't matter. Nothing did except surviving to see his plan to the end.
After making it to a cave that would shield him from the wind, he read an incantation from his book. With his final breaths, he pledged himself to the same ice demon he attempted to summon before. He was given new life, but gave much of his soul to the demon in return, leaving him, for the most part, emotionally dead. From there, he created the kingdom he never owned, forming a large castle on the mountainside.
