A childhood friend of Vantage and a current knight of their birth pride, Waterspout was originally a traveller’s cub who became a subject after his mother—feeling unable to provide for him—left him in the pride’s care. He rose to knighthood during Edge’s slow takeover of the pride, in hopes of being able to get through to Vantage and restore him to his rightful place as heir—and so he could protect him in the way he couldn't when they were cubs.

His devotion to said cause is unwavering—at times bordering on obsessive—as he cannot shake the belief that Vantage is deeply miserable in his current situation. He is not overt about his reasoning, recognizing how it sounds (and perhaps how extreme it truly is), but it quickly becomes clear just how far he is willing to go to try and save Vantage from himself.

Vantage makes a solid effort to rebuff him, having little interest in returning to the life they once knew before it fell apart, but Waterspout’s steadfastness on the matter makes it difficult.

• Constantly pushing back his fringe in order to get it out of his face.
• About half an inch shorter than Vantage, but notably more muscular.
• Not the strongest offensive fighter and often gets cornered, but highly skilled at counters and reversals.
