Personality: shy but sweet, Lapis loves to be out in nature and she's very fond of the animals she lives with.
Interests: collecting shells, sun bathing, swimming, exploring underwater, watching turtles do their thing

History: Lapis comes from Isla Contoy near Mexico. Due to the island being a protected national park Lapis does not encounter a lot of humans; when there are any visitors to the island Lapis is quick to hide from them should they come too close. She lives alongside the other animals on the island easily enough and while she isn't afraid of humans, she does not interact with any that come to the island.

Mainly she spends her time in the water, hunting for fish or just relaxing. She is capable of holding her breath for over 5 minutes and is an expert swimmer. When not in the water, she can be seen sunning herself on the beach and sleeping. There are many birds that like to use her as a perch while she snoozes but she doesn't mind.

There are locals who know of her existence and through observing her behavior know whether or not a storm is coming. Lapis's feelers on her head can track changes in the weather and when she senses a storm incoming she abandons the water and heads for the trees, presumably hiding in a den of her own making.

Lapis doesn't have many problems with aggressive animals but if they want to start something with her, she's not afraid to show them her stinger. She might be shy but she has a plucky side to her and nothing is taking a chunk out of her without getting some serious injuries in return.
