Asa-chan was originally designed as a gijinka for an art contest on 2015.
On April 1, 2019 she debuted as an English Virtual YouTuber but seeing which day she debuted on, VTuber Asa-chan was indeed merely an April Fool's joke. You can view her "introduction" video here.
As a VTuber, she has a cheery and positive personality in general. She refers to other people as "(name)-dono" even to fictional characters. These traits are applicable to her 'regular' OC version.
