About
Shadowleap is a very awkward and aloof cat. He struggles socially and tends to avoid interacting with other cats if he can. While he is knowledgable in herbs and treating wounds/illness, he lacks a connection with Starclan.

Personality
He has never been a social cat, but since the death of his mentor Shadowleap has become deeply isolated. It is hard for him to connect to his clanmates and want to be around them when he's not obligated to. He is quite blunt and can come off as rude. His grief and depression keep him in the medicine den sleeping or wandering outside the camp for herbs.

History
After several seasons of Shadowleap's apprenticeship, his mentor died very suddenly, forcing him to take the role as a full medicine cat earlier than expected. While he has excelled as a healer, he has no connection to Starclan. As he continues to struggles with the grief from his mentor's death, he finds himself mentoring Cliffpaw. [ Read more ]

As kits, Shadowleap and his sister Cloudpatch are extrememly close. They have little memory of their mother, who died while they were only a few moons old, and rarely interacted with their father. As the two entered their apperenticeships a distance formed between them. Distracted by their separate training, the two talked less and less. Shadowleap found closeness in his mentor while Cloudpatch became friends with the other warrior apprentices. The other apprentices frequently teased Shadowleap for his odd behavior and while Cloudpatch never joined in or encouraged it, she never defended her brother and avoided him even more so she wouldn't become ridiculed as well.

After his mentor's death, Shadowleap was made a full medicine cat by Skyclan's leader. Devastated by the loss, Shadowleap isolated himself in the medicine den and refused to do anything unless it was desperately needed. His lack of connection with Starclan became more obvious to his clanmates, and while they never openly say anything to him, he hears them mutter amongst each other if his disconnection is some sort of sign.

Despite his distance with his clanmates, Shadowleap feels secure in his place as a medicine cat. He cares deeply for his clan and wants to take care of it, he is also just horribly awkward and depressed.
Cloudpatch . [ sister ] Since their apperenticeships the two have been growing apart. Isolated in their own ways, the two barely talk or acknowledge each other much in their young adulthood. After Cliffpaw's birth, the two have been forced to interact more and are awkwardly try to repair the relationship they once had.
Cliffpaw . [ nephew/apprentice ] Cliffpaw's energetic nature frequently exhausts Shadowleap. He never finds himself mad or annoyed at the young cat, more just awkward. While he does his best to be a good mentor to Cliffpaw, he struggles having enough energy to match him and cannot help him with his Starclan connection.
