About:

Ryder is someone who is very open about his feelings and what he believes in. He is generally calm and prefers to analyse situations before taking action, though he does have his reckless moments.

Throughout his life he has had trouble expressing anger and tends to bottle it up until he snaps, though he is glad about his Blood Rage ability as it allows him to express his anger, though he does worry about loosing himself to it.

He tends to enjoy helping others with tasks as it allows him to learn new things. Ryder does not deal with stress well and tends to smoke to help relive the stress.

Dislikes: Spicy food, high expectations, mission reports

History:

Grew up in Fenrir HQ as his parents were high up scientists, though due to their work he didn’t see them much and when he did they would push him to follow in their footsteps. They also made sure his education reflected this and they would constantly push their high expectations on him, making him become afraid of failing. Science wasn’t something he was interested in and much later found his passion was in god arcs instead. He would often sneak down to the god arc storage and watch the god arc maintenance crew and ask questions. Ryder would then use any of his free time studying god arcs to understand them better. 

Eventually his parents caught on and banned him from going their again. A few days later he met Dr. Rachel Claudius who explained to him about the Blood Special Forces Unit she founded, how he had been ‘chosen’ and could become a god eater. Desperate to get away from his parents and the expectations they had of his he accepted, passing the aptitude test and became a god eater in the Blood unit at the same time as fellow Blood member Nana.

Ryder awakened his Blood Power, Evoke, during a mission where the Psion Aragami, Marduk, appeared. Due to his Blood Power and general abilities he was promoted to vice-captain. He would later be promoted to captain upon Romeo’s death at the hands of the Marduk and Julius’ departure from the unit. The unit was then transferred to the Far East Branch while Dr Rachel used Julius to cause a devouring apocalypse. Upon learning the truth from Dr Rachel’s sister Leah, Ryder alongside Blood, the Far East and Yuno was able to stop the devouring apocalypse, however Julius remained in the Spiral tree which was left behind.

After these events, he meets the rest of the Cradle unit (minus the former 1st Unit captain) and aids in the extermination of the Kyuubi alongside them.

After the corruption of the Spiral Tree, he worked with the Far East and Intelligence center to reach the top of the tree to stop Rachel once and for all. Upon defeating Rachel and saving Julius, the Blood unit used their Blood powers to amplify Romeo’s power, succeeding in stopping Rachel’s second devouring apocalypse. This event resulted in the Sacred Grounds been formed and Blood becoming human again. Ryder, alongside Blood decided to become god eaters once more.

In 2078, he joined in the mission at HQ before the calamity began.

As of God Eater 3, he is a part of Port Dusty Miller and works on god arc maintenance and their development. He tends to avoid combat as much as possible due to overuse of Blood Rage during the calamity.
