Cora Tian-mei

Cora is a very responsible person. She is committed to her duties and responsibilities, making them a top priority in her life. Polite and well-mannered, she is also capable of maintaining a level head, which keeps her from being meek. This nature has been ingrained in her since she was a child by her parents who wanted her to become a just ruler. Despite the enlightened impression she tends to leave, Cora is quite sheltered from the comings and goings of common life. This causes her composure to be lost rather quickly when confronted with something obvious she was previously unaware of, much to her own embarrassment.

Furthermore, Cora has a talent for solving problems and acting as a mediator to find a satisfactory solution for everyone involved, even at her own expense. Because of her station, she never forgets her propriety, however she rarely enforces it with others. She still always tries her best to be amicable and friendly, even if her general behaviour can push people away.

Cora is also repressed. She can be rather selfless, always wanting to place the needs of the many above her own, and struggles with balancing her duties and her self-expression, causing her to feel isolated at times. This inner conflict can make her envious and mopey, especially when faced with injustice, which is consistent with her invidia tiefling nature.

✦ Appearance

Cora is incredibly short, being only 4’9” tall as part of being an invidia tiefling. She has blush pink skin, golden and pupil-less eyes, accompanied by a pair of short horns sprouting from her brow and a thick ridged tail ending in a split fin. She has medium-length ginger hair that she lets hang loose, which tends to point upwards.

Cora puts a lot of care in her appearance, never going anywhere without being properly dressed, tiara and all. She wears a few signet rings, her biggest one being on her tail. She often wears her armor, under which she likes dressing in plain but regal clothes, preferring dresses and medium to long skirts.

Noble

Cora grew up as the sheltered princess of the faraway kingdom of Arduwyn, a mountainous but still wooded kingdom. The kingdom is going through a rough period, as Cora’s grandparents overthrew the previous monarchy and took their place, leading to a hatred for Cora’s family to be present with the people to this day. Cora’s parents, well-intended, wanted to protect her from this hatred, leading to her protected upbringing. She was still raised well and was well educated to be a proper heir of the throne, as she was the only child of the royal family. Cora was also pushed towards the clergy by her aunt growing up, as her aunt believed the family had to make up for the sins of Cora’s grandparents, and Cora becoming a follower of Lyvonne was very important to be forgiven. As a result, Cora became a nature cleric.

She didn’t find out about the truth about her people hating her until the age of 23. At first she simply tried to convince her people otherwise by travelling around the kingdom and talking to them, finally seeing her own kingdom with her own eyes, but this had little to no avail. Instead, she promised to prove herself a rightful heir by finding out about the secrets of the cloudsea, and left to become an adventurer.
