A xenocultures undergrad with a couple language minors under his belt means that Soren can kind of just dink around the universe and take a job almost anywhere he lands. He's about as easygoing a guy as you'll ever find. Sort of caught up in the current of life, he's usually just fine seeing where it takes him.

Except sometimes it takes him to stupid places.

Like, getting entangled with an ancient parasitoid being after hanging out on some sketchy backwater colony for a few months. Or meeting a guy who super for sure got kidnapped and immediately abandoned at a 7-11. And kind of becoming enamored enough to chase him down years after returning him to his home planet.
