He primarily resides among the grave sites, marked and unmarked, to ensure that all who are buried there stay at rest. Locals soon began to become familiar with Lenus, and started to solicit his help with frightening tasks that often involve non-humankind. Despite his resistance to socializing, he almost always helps whoever comes to him, so as long as their intentions are good.

Charisma

Lenus has never been the friendliest figure on the outside. He often intentionally dodges interactions with humans, and when one manages to summon or corner him, he is sometimes snippy and icy towards them. He will often intentionally try to intimidate them into leaving him alone if he believes that they only want to use him for selfish or cruel intentions. However, he does have a very obvious soft spot for wildlife and children. He also tends to be much kinder towards people who have shown charity or empathy towards others, and sometimes will even listen to people's confessions and worries.

Shapeshift

Strength:

He is able to transform at will from human to hound and vice versa. He has no preferred form, however, if he shifts too many times within a day it becomes challenging and uncomfortable.

Memory Stewardship

Strength:

If necessary, or explicitly asked of him, he is able to take the memories or the feelings attached to memories and literally share in its burden to relieve the one who had to experience it.

Simple Combat

Strength:

This is not often required of him, but he has basic hand to hand combat skills, and familiarity with using a sword, and bow and arrow.

Banishment

Strength:

When he is unable to resolve problems with the undead, or magical beings, he is often able to banish them from the lands by force, and keep them away.

Heart's Intention

Strength:

This is a constant, latent ability of his to be able to judge the intention of one's heart. This can often be obscured by very strong emotions, but many who are not aware of what he is simply believe that he can read hearts, or smell sin.

Shadow Stealth

Strength:

This is a passive characteristic that his kind have where those who are not seeking him out, or who are not already familiar with the undead, tend not to notice him in passing. This moreso applies to him when he is a wolf, rather than a human.

Summary

When a noblewoman's parents moved to these cursed and decaying lands, Lenus was discovered and nearly mistaken for a demon. However, when the soldiers who encountered him realized that he was no such thing, they captured him after much resistance and took him to their lords. Lenus did not want to comply to the land's new leaders, and was imprisoned until the noblewoman was born. She was born with a curse, and her parents being desperate to free her of it before it took her life, came to Lenus and begged him to help them.

Lenus agreed, and freed the child of the curse that plagued her. In exchange for his kindness, Lenus was given freedom so as long as he promised to help them cleanse the lands. Lenus realized this was likely the only option he had if he ever wanted to exist peacefully on his lands again, so he agreed to serve their family.

Years passed and the lands became healthier, and started to bloom with life again. The citizens there had successfully established a market, and an economy, and the situation became far less dire. As the original rulers of the land began to age, Lenus's loyalty slowly transitioned over to the young heir he had once saved. Thankfully for himself and the citizens, she was a far more benevolent leader, and he gradually became at peace with sharing his once broken lands with the noble family.
