Being the only heir to his fathers’ throne, young Cyril was seen as too innocent and weak by his father. Not fitting for a king as he was told, he was forced into extreme training in combat as a way to break his spirit and mold him into a ruthless weapon. Now “broken” young Cyril no longer showed mercy/remorse towards those deemed beneath him. Though his father had indeed changed him he couldn’t help but revert back to his kind self in the presence of his mother.
His mother was the complete opposite of the king, she was sweet and loving. Knowing she'd never be able to raise Cyril as a normal boy she did her best to show Cyril all the love he never received from his father. Because of this he always felt safe with her and knew he could be his old self.
One night a few of the villagers that grew tired of the Kings' ruling decided to raid the kingdom. In the midst of their attack Cyril had been in his room reading a book with his mother when they suddenly heard the screams. Quickly his mother peeked outside and heard the villagers shouting that they have killed the king. Knowing they would come for them next she acted quickly and helped Cyril climb down from the window. As he looked up one last time he saw his mother get pulled back and heard a scream of pain. Facing the reality that he was now alone he could do nothing else but run.
As time went on Cyril finds himself still alone, isolating himself from humans as he is torn between hating/loving them, he hates them for fearing his kind and for taking his beloved mother away from him. But can’t help but love them because of the love/respect he has for his mother. Not wanting to show weakness to anyone he chooses to come across as cruel when first approached.
