~~Background (WIP)~~

Aatu was the last and the weakest of 50 "Icewolves" created from snow and ice by the goddess of winter (Boreal)  when she stole the seeds of life from the god of spring (Pollum). He along with all the other Icewolves and their creator were trapped within the Frozen Wastes by the other outraged gods by a magic-sealing barrier, isolated from all other mortal and divine beings. Unbeknownst to them, after thousands of years the other gods withdrew from the world, and their influence began to weaken; as did the barrier keeping Aatu and his kind contained. Though Boreal and the other Icewolves were still unable to pass due to their magic being too strong, Aatu was able to cross to the world outside. Seeing this, Boreal gave him a quest: Find a way to break the barrier from the outside.

As Aatu ventured out into the world, he found it wasn't the beautiful, untamed land that Boreal had described. He understood little of modern technology and societal ques, and was woefully lost on how to proceed in a world so foreign and panicked. with the absence society's long forgotten creators, the world was beginning to crumble.

~~History of Aatu as an OC~~

Aatu started off as Ashton Wulff, created when I (peri) was a little boy who wanted to get into animation in 2008. At the time, They were also female as I hadn't realized I was trans yet. They were a plain white wolf with a blue tail tip and streak in their hair tuft. In 2009, I discovered the furry fandom, and Aatu went under their first re-design and was renamed to Aatu-Kateri, shortened later to just Aatu. From 2012-2014/15 ish, Aatu was temporarily retired as my main OC due to safety reasons and not wanting to be identified, though I still had some commissions and art of them from this time. 2017 is when I officially changed Aatu from female to male and gave him his most recent design, barring a few changes to his paws, hair, and tail. Now, Aatu is who I draw the most frequently and will be eventually in his own story, Iceborn, once I finish scripting it.
