Kathulos is from a long lineage of master level magic users. Everyone in their family went to The Academia and graduated top of their respective magic field, so they were expected to do the same. However, because of the sheer size of their family, the only field that is left to master within the family was healing magic - apparently choosing such a simplistic field was a choice beneath the rest of them. But Kathulos did not want to pursue the healing arts, yet they also did not want to disappoint their family. Maybe they could pursue a little bit of everything?

Afterall, the star shaped amulet they found in the family attic surely had made things easier. Everything became easier and faster, the power at their fingertips. The voice whispering to them surely was helpful... The amulet made it easier to climb the ranks, easily becoming the Academia's Grand Healing Mage. 

But after one grand betrayal that ended in Kathu's death, they had no choice but to find comfort in that helpful power and voice, becoming one with it. Now, Kathu dreams of consuming the universe, reuniting with their "other half".
