Keats is very sensitive to the world of demons and spirits. From a young age, he could see people that clearly weren't there, and interact with mysterious creatures that others seemed highly fearful of. The families on the outside seemed to keep their children from him, but his own direct family never shunned his abilities.
Keats has a very unique connection to Ryu, being one of the only other people that can communicate with the demon ink in his skin.
