Why does the soul hallucinate?

I've got control, I shift my shape

OVERVIEW
This vaguely crow-like creature is a changeling guardian of nature. It is less of an actual organism and more of piece of nature itself. As such, it doesn't really have a name or pronouns.
Regardless of the nature of it's existence, however, it is quite an intelligent and wise creature, and its extremely active brain is always wandering. It is zoned out majority of the time. Because of this, the particles of it's mind move so quickly they phase into other dimensions, causing a lot of derealisation and disassociation. As a result, it has a hard time retaining its shape and sense of self; its form is always changing and altering. It more often than not appears as a mixture of species. Being amongst nature grounds it, and makes existing a little easier.

PERSONALITY
A very quiet and reserved individual, Sprout tends to keep to itself.  ----

APPEARANCE
Sprout does not actually have a form of it's own. Throughout history, it has experimented with being different animals and plants. As of late, it can most commonly be seen as a crow or crow-like creature. However due to its inability to not zone out, it has trouble maintaining shape for long periods of time. It's form is constantly shifting, sometimes ever so slightly, and sometimes drastically. The obscure looking forms it takes at times are likely responsible for criptid sightings.

Different forms of plant matter and fungi are always growing out of it's body.

Common forms include:

❀ avians [crows, grooved-bill ani, kiwi, vultures]
✿ prehistoric animals [archaeopteryx, dromaeosaur, pterosaur, ect]
bats
✿ mustilids [otters, mink]
❀ reptiles/amphibians [snakes, salamanders]

These forms can be a mixture of the above, or exactly like the animal it resembles.

AMBITIONS & MOTIVATIONS
As a literal embondiment of nature, Sprout devotes it's life to nature and animals, trying to better the world and to protect it. Their one wish is to leave a positive mark on the creatures it cares so much for. ----

♦ interested in biological sciences, and by studying it, has learned better ways to take care of the earth. it is in general fascinated with knowledge

ABILITIES
Shapeshifting, immortality [if it dies, it decomposes into the soil and sprouts back up again as if nothing happened], seems to be able to encourage growth of plants.

 HISTORY
There is no clear beginning to Sprout's story. It was not created, or birthed. It suddenly just was. A consciousness. Writhing amongst the dirt like worms.
This was billions of years ago, before life had begun to thrive on earth. The only thing it knew about it's existence was a deep welling sense of purpose, that it had to protect this place. The longer this prehistoric creature existed, the more it realized why this was. Earth, nature, all the creatures the inhabit it, were incredibly complex and beautiful. Each individual's existence was a minor miracle in and of itself. As Sprout watched the world around it flourish, it was amazed the way earth was constantly changing and evolving. The way each creature fought for it's survival. Sprout felt at peace. It was a piece of this, a piece of this existence. Nature.

And then came the humans. They weren't all that impressive at first. They overhunted several species, but everyone had to eat.
However, Sprout could tell something was different about them. While it could sense all of Nature around it, feel what it was to be every animal big or small, every plant, every living thing; there was a separation between it and the humans. As if they weren't a true part of nature. As if there were something else entirely.

As time went on, humans did as they pleased with the planet. Sprout noticed they seemed to think it was theirs. ----

Above are some colour palette and anatomy options. However, the character is not limited to these. Feel free to interpret the design how you like!
