My mom is an oncology patient and is currently in remission! However, her recovery process has been extremely difficult due to complications throughout her chemotherapy treatments, including necrotizing fasciitis in her hand and foot. A three-month hospitalization left her with multiple sequelae; today, she is undergoing physical and psychological therapy while working to heal extensive wounds that even led to tendon exposure. Currently, we are evaluating the possibility of three surgeries on her hand to try to restore its functionality, as she is dealing with wrist hyperextension and finger flexion. As an artist, I work tirelessly to cover all her medical expenses and our household costs.
