Cherry

Though an accomplished scientist, Cherry is known to most people as being reclusive and grouchy and not much else. Their words are dry and sarcastic, and their actions fueled in cold logic and careful analysis, except when they're very much not. They have a lot of baggage relating to the tragic factory explosion that killed their father and, through their naive attempt to save his life, left Cherry themself with injuries such as a missing eye, missing leg, and extensive burn scarrage. They don't like to talk about it directly, though the event evidently coloured their view of the world, leaving them bitterly cynical and distrusting. It also left them with some prominent identity issues, with them not really seeing themself as human (when they are still physically human, anyway) and aggressively abandoning the old identity that they feel no longer belongs to them. It's also part of the reason they got into thermochemistry in the first place, but let's not talk about their questionable coping mechanisms.
