Nova

they're a descendant of the nova family, a powerful line of magic users who have been in conflict with forces of evil for over a century. she's trained in their magic, and has access to a guardian spirit she gained through one of her family's rituals. but she never wanted to be a part of this to begin with.

nova was once much happier, but the circumstances of her life has left her bitter. she's quiet and reserved, stoic, grumpy, no-nonsense. has a temper, and can be easily set off, especially by people who irritate her. head-strong and stubborn. when she's set her mind on a goal she will do whatever it takes to achieve it. often rude, sometimes intentionally, sometimes not. has no issue with breaking rules or laws to do what she has to.

she loved her father when she was a kid. then her father became less and less of a part of her life the older she got, too busy dealing with their family's enemies to be there for her. she hardly saw him for the entirety of her teenage years, and grew resentful towards him for it. made to learn the family's magic from a young age to protect herself, but still wasn't allowed to go with her dad despite that. sometime after they turned eighteen, their father was mysteriously put into a coma, and the responsibility of saving him fell onto her. even despite her bitterness towards him, she set out to save her dad, and finish what had been started long ago.

Ganymede - their closest ally. they initially investigated ganymede for her connection to their dad's enemies, but she hadn't been involved in what happened to him, and was instead willing to join nova in the quest to save their dad. their personalities clash sometimes, but ganymede has proven herself to be reliable, and nova appreciates her for it.
Terra - their father, the one nova considers responsible for getting them into this mess in the first place. to say they have a rocky relationship with him would be an understatement; they've barely seen terra for the last decade, his work keeping him away for months or years at a time. and the few times she'd been able to see him, he'd been distant, not at all like she remembered him as a kid. she longs to have a connection with him, but after all this time without him, she doesn't know if it's worth it even to try.
