Personality
Azren is a kind fellow who helps his allies. He's hardworking too. Azren captured and sold into slavery quickly learned how to perform laborious tasks. As an adventurers, whether it's fighting wolves or chimeras, although a bit challenging at times, his work isn't too difficult to him. He answers the call to action and isn't afraid to lead his allies into battle. In his time of leisure with allies, he likes to do small gestures to make them smile or buy them treats to lighten the mood while adventuring.
Design Notes
- Azren is very fashionable owning quite a few jackets.
- Usually found with a cattail or leaf stemming from his mouth.
- Despite his cowboy demeanor, he doesn't like wearing hats that would otherwise ruin his hair.
- Doesn't mind being messy but usually likes to stay clean.

History
At a young age, Azren was kidnapped and sold into slavery through the slave trade. With hopes of someday being re-united with his parents, he did the work he was given without complaint. He worked much of his tasks without issue. Eventually he and other slaves would be liberated by the Blood Axes only to become slave workers for their guild. Without complaint, he continued to do the work he was given. Later down the line, the Blood Axes low on units, Azren took the call. Treating combat like any other task he had been given, he had no problem learning his martial weapon of choice, a lance. Although he missed his family, at that point he was happy with the relationships he made with the people in the Blood Axes that he didn't mind staying a bit longer. Most important to him was his relationship with Samuel, son of the Guild Master.
During the war, the Blood Axes were to initiate an attack, but a tiefling named Taluki murdered the wife to the Guild Master of the Blood Axes. Since Azren walked in on it occurring, Taluki pinned the blame on Azren on top of threatening him. Azren would fall into a depression after his relationships began to dwindle. Taluki kept an eye on Azren to make sure he didn't snitch. One day a witch came by, brewed a potion, a Forget me not, which Taluki used on Azren to forget about the murder ever happening.
Azren currently lives out his life as an adventurer for the Shadowfen guild. He first arrived in a beat up car, riding along with his soon to be guild mates Ildrath, a Drow, and Sol, a Yuan-ti. The three becoming a party, Ildrath made a deal with a messenger to revive all the messengers so the world doesn't end and the party set out on that adventure. Along the way Sol left, allowing a new member named Visk to join them. The party would eventually fight and kill the messenger Sarthros, allowing Azren to become a messenger himself.

Leviathan holds a special place in Azren’s heart. Azren treated Levi with kindness because he was a nice guy, more so now after learning of his past of being mistreated as a slave. Azren works hard to free him of his heart like prison of being a messenger not due to pity, but because he sees that Levi has personality and ambitions, he’s unique to him, he wants to see him happy and free. He’s invested in him to a point that his love for him is unconditional.
Azren likes Abigail a lot. He finds her to be motherly in the way that she cares a lot for him, her brother, and the party to be warm and refreshing and really puts him at ease. In his efforts to free the messengers, he too wishes to see her smile a smile brighter than the star she's responsible for, he feels it's the least he can do for her.
Ildrath is an interesting character to Azren. His ties to diplomacy confuse him, not being up to key on keeping up on Orywall politics. He does think it's rad that he's part of something in the bigger picture. He also thinks it's real cool that his father is the leader of a thieves guild, despite the party almost becoming slaves. If some day the party splits up to do their own thing, he would like to keep in touch with Ildrath.
Although Azren was skeptical of Visk at first, given the nature of changelings, he thinks Visk is a chill dude. He appreciates the effort that Visk puts into the party, despite some of his conflicts with the party. He also respects Visks choices facing his fears and working to reverse his wrongs by working to end the slave trade. All and all, he's pretty chill.
