Personality

7364220_pT2Vp6Iu3l94Wz1.png

Cold | Logical | Standoffish | Blunt | Confident | Reserved | Unassuming

He appears to be a somewhat cold, logical, obedient and kind of standoffish person. He doesn't trust others easily and tends to push them away often claiming not to care about what happens to others and that "the weak should be disposed of". Inaho generally talks in a harsh way, 'forcing' others to view the world as he does and because he isn't the one to think before talking he ends up hurting someone (usually the younger soldiers/ recruits). However, Inaho hides his true feelings and emotions in an attempt to protect himself from getting hurt. Losing someone close to him might as well ruin him. He is also afraid of failure and any kind of injury that will render him unable to fight. Despite his cold and harsh exterior, he can be kind (in his own way) and help others out or protect them in battle but he'll never admit it.

Mech

Codename: AI-ABDN-283, 'Abaddon' | Core: Mark II | Specialty: Close-range combat

Although Abaddon specializes in close ranged combat (sword) it is also armed with an assault rifle.

The original V01-S model was made primarily for scouting purposes. Due to its powerful engines and lightweight metal, it was able to reach incredible speeds allowing it to travel distances gathering information and reporting back in short times. Later it was rebuilt to be more combat efficient with the addition of the assault mode; still keeping the original flight mode.

Strengths

  • Speed: Abaddon can reach incredible speeds in both flight and assault mode, although a lag in assault mode is fairly noticeable. It has been speculated that it can accelerate to the point where it creates after images but its current core wasn't powerful enough to test it.

  • Agility: In combination with its speed, Abaddon is able to move past and attack multiple enemies dealing considerable damage. Usually to weaken the Leviathans as it'd take more than one attack to kill one off.

  • Two Form: Extremely versatile in battle and useful when it comes to reconnaissance missions, its two modes can really come in handy.

Weaknesses

7364217_hesPm7divPp4t0Y.png
  • Weak Defense: In order to sustain flight, Abaddon is made out of lightweight metal that can't take heavy blows. Therefore, it is vulnerable as it's only defense is its shield that can take that much damage. Inaho has to rely on others' mechs for defense.

  • Difficult handling: Abaddon's controls are hard to handle as they are more like a motorcycle's and it's hard to get the feel of "arms" and "legs". Moreover, the change between the two modes puts a lot of stress on Inaho's body so he can't change between the two with ease.
  • Fast energy depletion: With its high speed Abaddon's energy is depleting rapidly so it can't fly and operate for extended periods of time before it stops working and needs to recharge.

  • Limited ground movement: Since it is specifically built for flight, Abaddon can't move on the ground. In assault mode it is able to but its movement is very limited due to its structure.

Equipment

  • 'Judgment' Long (Energy) Sword: Abaddon's main weapon. A large sword with a sharp edge that can cut through Leviathan's with ease. It cannot, however, kill them in one strike. Judgment can draw energy from the mech's core to extend its range and deal greater damage. Inaho can allow Abaddon to channel the power of its core into the blade; something that can put him and the mech in danger because of the sharp power consumption, which is why it is currently in a very experimental state as it is surprisingly unstable. It is only to be used in utmost emergencies.
  • Assault Rifle: A large rifle that fires b A standard weapon of Abaddon with medium-low accuracy, used to subdue Leviathans from afar. However, its sheer size hinders the mech's mobility so Inaho usually keeps it stored.

The rifle can also be used when in flight mode as it is in the front when the mecha folds. It can can be turned to a certain degree for better accuracy.

  • Strike Shield: The mech's main and only defense. A folding shield on Abaddon's right arm with a sharp retractable blade, so it can also be used for offensive attacks in close combat. The shield is able to withstand quite a few damage before it is rendered useless as well as the arm that it is on.
  • Store Blades: Blades that extend from the mech's feet. Their purpose is so the mech can be stored when in flight mode but they can also serve as weapons if needed.

Summary

Growing up with only his parents, Inaho had a quite lonely childhood and poor social skills. After the first contact with the Leviathans, and after denying entry in the Havens, he grew wary of the world.

Inaho became an engineer apprentice in an attempt to get his parents inside any of the Havens, when he happened to fall upon an old, damaged mech.

He fixed it and with it traveled to Ireland to watch an Astronomical phenomenon—he used to be quite fascinated with Astronomy as a child.

While there, the Fall of Germany happened and the world went into Chaos.

Inaho immediately returned in search for his parents, only to find a group from Veta Corp.—his mech's developers as it seemed—after being caught on UEC's radar.

He underwent excessive training and was shipped to Madagascar when finished, to combat against the Leviathans.

Backstory

Early Years

Inaho was born in a middle class family. His father worked as a car engineer and his mother run an onsen in Nikko, Tochigi in Japan. As a child, he used to be quite lonely since there weren’t many children around—except for the rare occasions when customers would bring their kids along to the springs.

Growing up with just his parents (particularly his mother), his interactions with strangers were limited to their guests and the old people that predominantly lived in his neighborhood. At school, he’d usually stay silent, seeing that he was lacking basic social skills; not knowing how to start conversations or communicate with people his age. Even so, he had managed to make a couple of friends.

Some classmates—two guys and a girl—seemed to really want to become his friends and kept pestering him since day one. He didn’t mind them all that much, he had admitted. Having friends was…nice.

They’d usually walk back home together, but soon they would go their separate ways, as all but Inaho lived a lot closer to school.

In his pastime he’d read books that he found interesting. His favorite was one about Astronomy that he happened to fall upon while visiting the library with his mother. Since he was quite young he didn’t understand everything but outer space really fascinated him and for a while, it was the only thing he read about.

One day, Inaho and his mother received a call from the local hospital. His father had an accident that cost him his left arm. While working, a harness broke and he severely damaged his limp. The doctors were unable to save the broken arm and had to amputate it immediately.

When the operation was over and his father was finally able to return home, his missing arm struck Inaho dumb, but soon he shook it off as he got to spend more time with his dad.

2027 | First Contact

7363448_kX7ZW177IT66uHN.png?1524415623

The attacks started and the appearance of an unknown life was all over the news, people didn’t seem to mind at first but it wasn’t before long that they had started panicking. Inaho would ask what was going on but they kept him in the dark.

He was really close to his parents and trusted them blindly. When the world was brought down to its knees and fed on mankind’s blood, the bonds of trust between Inaho and his family were severed. They, of course, meant no harm. They simply wanted to calm and reassure their child that everything was going to be okay—even when it wasn’t—they had to hope. Little did they know that mankind was about to face their most dreadful enemy yet.

At the age of 11 everything Inaho knew crumbled. For a kid his age, to experience such disaster was certainly traumatizing. The suffocating smell of the fresh blood and burned flesh filled the young boy’s senses making him nauseous and soon he had to be carried away from the now battling grounds, that humans and Leviathans were fighting a one-sided war.

Luckily, he and his family were able to escape and they traveled to Germany to Haven 1.

2030-2032 | The Outcast

As he grew older, he restlessly tried to get his family inside any of the Havens upon denying them entry. Although, Haven 1 was supposed to be the safest, any would do, rather than staying out in the open, unprotected and exposed.

He decided that it’d be for the best if he became an engineer specializing in fixing mechs and thus, he became an apprentice to a man, close to where he and his parents lived. There weren’t, however, any experienced mech engineers as the gigantic robots were a new concept and addition to this ongoing war.

He had wanted to study Astronomy but education outside the walled cities was limited as the most knowledgeable people were gathered inside in order to ‘save’ and preserve mankind. Inaho still did read books about the many wonders of the universe.

A few years passed—after he became an engineer apprentice—and Inaho found a pile of scrap metal that strongly resembled a mech of some sort. It was of weird shape and structure because it resembled a motorcycle (with no tires) more than it did a mecha. Its core looked a bit damaged but it should work. At least it would worth trying.

Because of how much it weighed, Inaho, or anyone else for that matter, couldn’t bring it closer to the city he was currently residing in. He camped near it and worked on it for almost three months. Fortunately, the machine worked and those three months weren’t in vain. The handling was quite hard but with a bit of effort, Inaho was able to pilot it.

He used it mainly for moving around faster as it didn’t seem to be able to do a lot more.

2032-2035 | Fall of Germany

Someday, while at a bar drinking—like usual—he heard on the TV about an astronomical phenomenon that would be observant from Ireland and it’d would last approximately a month. It didn’t take him long to decide that he was going and with the now working mech it would be a lot faster to get there. It wouldn’t hurt, he thought, and so he departed in the next few days.

While there he found other people that had gathered to observe the phenomenon and he’d also made a friend. Both had come from different sides of the world and didn’t really know anyone or the place. Little did he know that when Haven 1, the safest Haven of all, had fallen and soon the other countries flooded with more and powerful leviathans, that ‘friend’ would later abandon him betraying his trust and therefore making him to completely distrust anyone no matter how true and pure their intentions were. He held no grudge over his friend’s actions however or anyone else.

And then Germany fell and it all seemed like a bad dream repeating itself. Inaho’s world was shattered once again. Just when things started to look brighter for once, everything went a full circle and fell back into despair.

His nights were restless; every time he’d close his eyes he’d see the same thing over and over again; the way people were torn apart, the deafening screams that pierced his ears and the smell of death that suffocated him. Inaho’s then growing habit of drinking and smoking had now become an ugly addiction. He would drink night and day and smoke like there was no tomorrow; because, in all truth, was there really going to be one?

Just like the first time and second, there was going to be a third and fourth and fifth and there wouldn’t be an end to this war between man and beast. It’d keep going on and on until the race would finally go extinct and the beasts would stand triumphant.

Inaho’s mind and heart had gone blank and numb from the over abuse and the only thing that kept him somewhat alive was the notion that his parents were still out there, alive. There was no confirmation of their death and when Inaho returned from Ireland he couldn’t find their bodies or any trace of them left behind. They could still be alive or they could be so deep under the wreck, that there was no way to unbury them. But that kept a tiny spark of hope in Inaho’s heart that just didn’t allow him to die just yet.

2035-2040 | Ares Initiative

During his trip from France to Ireland, even though he tried to conceal himself the best he could, he still got caught on UEC’s radar and as soon as he returned, a group from the Veta Corp. stood before him. They explained that the mech he was riding had been built for combat and practical purposes alike and there was more to it than what appeared to be. It of course…required some modification. They proposed Inaho to join their team and try to get the maximum potential out of the machine, since he was able to override the safety program.

Inaho didn’t have any other reason for living other than finding his parents, dead or alive. Becoming a pilot for this Corporation certainly seemed useful and tempting at the time as he was going to enlist in the Ares Initiative program if the tests were successful. He accepted.

The training and the experiments he underwent put a lot of strain on his body often leaving him unconscious for days.

The mech required his blood to fully operate every time he used it, as the scientists had explained and his pilot suit, which was especially made for it with nanobots that would connect to his nerve system.

His dark hair had slowly started to fade, something that concerned the doctors and scientists.

It was later found out that the use of the mech would slowly alter his DNA which led them to take drastic measures. After a few more tests he was stabilized but he was left with a white plop of hair and his eyes had become grey—similar to albinism.

The training was over and Inaho was able to fully operate Abaddon. Everything was set and he was shipped to Madagascar to contribute to the extermination of the Leviathans.
