STYX: THE VOID KING

Us/We He/Him + Lawful Evil

"We were freshly born. In pain, writhing, confused, and hungry. Starmother was there. She told us to eat." -Styx regarding his making and Quasar's task

Styx believes in the divinity of unending feasts and darkness. Eventually, all life ends. He knows the old wisdom; space is enormous but finite, each celestial body getting further distant from their neighbors, and every stareater born a solarsystem dies. When the universe comes to an end it will be cold and lonely. He believes deeply in diverting this fate and that it is specifically the purpose of all void core stareaters.

To reach his impossible dream of a universe uncold Styx has proclaimed himself The Void King. He is a ruthless creature devouring every celestial body he encounters with the occasional exception. He has an inexplicable fondness for non-stareater life and (sometimes) avoids devouring systems or stareaters that are host to aliens. There is no point in maintaining the universe if no one is there to live in it. However, stareaters that are neither livable or synthetic are on the menu. Other voids are not safe. In the modern age much of his kind are no longer pariahs and less so are active cannibals. As far as he is concerned such voids are traitors and deserve to be devoured by better creatures. Not only that, but Styx is jealously possessive of his destiny. He believes that one day the greatest and strongest void will be the last entity alive and the only singular mass in all of existence. The last void will have devoured the gods, every star, and every black hole. The eventual demise of this singularity will harold the next universe. A second, perhaps third, perhaps billionth big bang. This is his destiny. For this, even the voids he approves of are rivals worth conquering. Styx is not a wholely uncooperative menace; any creature that proclaims their allegiance to him will be used. Additionally, Styx fosters and trains young or struggling voids. The universe is big. It cannot be collected slowly by one individual. He spreads his worldview so that the work is easier. The expectation is that his proteges will seek him out after devouring their own corner of the universe and either challenge him or submit. Eventually, all becomes a meal.
