Profile

Hunter Pantone, born in 278 ADD as Prince Kiiro Goruden, is a male king cheetah from the Savanna States capital of Felonis in the Sur Kingdoms. After his father the Emperor was killed in an attack from the North during the Imperial War, he found refuge in Grand Concentra City from a black lab who adopted him and renamed him Hunter. Hunter would grow up to start his own faction of freedom fighters aiming to expose corruption in the city.

Personality

Hunter is a smooth talking and cunning cheetah who believes the people of Grand Concentra City are being manipulated through imperialistic propaganda. He has a general distrust towards others, assuming they seek to extort him for selfish purposes. While he often comes across as cynical and judgmental, he still has hope the war will end and that he can free the people.

Abilities

Hunter is a master swordsman, wielding the Royal Golden Sword of the Savanna, hidden by his adoptive father before he was taken by the Grand Concentric Authorities.

He is also skilled with verbal manipulation, able to talk himself out of dangerous situations and to obtain information he needs without resorting to violence.

Hidden within him is the elemental power of Sun. Once unlocked, he will be able to create balls of light and cure physical corruptions such as illness and injuries.

Design

Hunter has mainly yellow fur, with white fur going along the bottom of his snout and down his belly. He has small black circular spots all over his body, with two long streaks going down his back and one streak beginning below each of his eyes His tail is mainly white, with a yellow base and a black streak going down the center along with several black stripes. His paws and bottoms of his feet are white. His ears transition from yellow to brown to black tips, and the insides are a beige color. His brown hair is kept short, forming a tuft that goes down his forehead. He has golden eyes.

Attire

Hunter's standard outfit consists of a pink t-shirt and gray sweatpants with thick honey-colored stripes, along with his father's brown bomber jacket. A blue scabbard is strapped to his left hip with a belt going across his torso under his jacket.

Story

Early Life

Hunter was born as Kiiro Goruden, the heir to the Savanna States of the Sur Kingdoms. But when the Imperial War began in 281 ADD, the North laid siege to his home, the capital city of Felonis. His father was killed in the attack, but his mother was able to escape with him to the Northern Empire, where she took on the guise of a poor refugee. News of the Empress' escape traveled north, until eventually she and Kiiro were cornered in Grand Concentra City. They hid out in a rundown bar when the Imperial Agents arrived on their doorstep. The Empress pleaded with the barkeep, a black lab named Charcoal Pantone, to adopt Kiiro. She gave him the Royal Golden Sword of the Savanna to protect, and after he accepted, turned herself in. To protect his identity, Charcoal renamed Kiiro to Hunter.

Hunter grew up spending his time out in the neighborhood, unaware of his royal past and performing small cons on arrogant travelers.  When he was eight, one of his cons landed him in trouble with a lion producer from the performing industry. He threatened to have Hunter taken away from Charcoal, but the lab convinced him to leave Hunter alone. But while in the producer's custody, Hunter met his daughter Scarlet, who quickly took a liking to him. Her father forbid her from speaking to the cheetah, but for weeks after she continued to sneak away from her family in order to be with him, and the two grew up as best friends, despite how far away they lived from each other. But over time, they lost touch due to the city cutting power to the poorer neighborhoods where Hunter lived.

When Hunter got to high school, Charcoal began to speak out against the war. The authorities later deemed him a danger to society, and took him away, forcing the bar to close and leaving Hunter alone. But while they were arresting him, Hunter discovered his mother's sword hidden in the bar. He rushed to stop Charcoal's arrest, but by the time he got outside, they were already gone. Now on his own, Hunter dropped out of high school and tried to get back in contact with Scarlet, who was now becoming a famous exotic dancer. But no one would allow him to speak with her, so he decided to focus on fixing the situation in his neighborhood by learning how to sword fight.

During his training, he found a new place to live--an abandoned houseboat along the city docks. From there, he became a mercenary specializing in retrieving stolen goods for money.

Escape up North

When he was 21, he was hired by a supervisor from the Spectrum Academy to protect sensitive information detailing a plot by the Northern Empire to bomb the Academy and frame the Sur Kingdoms of the attack. He tried to warn the local Authorities, but they claimed he was a conspiracy theorist, and labeled him a danger to society. The GCC government was then alerted of Hunter's information, and dispatched a Spectrum Squadron consisting of a kangaroo named Vert Greene, a clouded leopard named Rosa Amaranth, and an arctic fox named Cerulean Azura, to track him down. The three confronted him at the docks of the Pipeline District, but he soon fled on his houseboat.

Hunter traveled up the coast, heading for the Fjord Reaches, where he was expected to deliver the information back to the supervisor, who would release it to the public. During a stop at a quiet town called Shale Harbor, he was attacked by a skunk assassin named Lavender Amethyst, who had been hunting him for the bounty. The two fought, Lavender eventually besting him, but before she killed him, he offered a deal. He recognized her from her own wanted posters, and informed her that even if she killed him they would still arrest her when she went to collect the bounty. Realizing he was correct, she let him go. He in return offered her pay if she would help him on his journey to the Fjord Reaches up north, to which she agreed.

They nearly reached the fjords when a blizzard overcame the houseboat. Lavender fell overboard, and though Hunter tried to rescue her, she was nowhere to be found. Assuming she was dead, he continued onward, arriving at the fjords and discovering a secure cove to stay in. Not long after, the Squad sent by the Spectrum Academy arrived, explaining their mission to protect him and his information, but he didn't trust them. Soon however, they were attacked by a red panda named Crimson Hong, who'd been sent by the Sur Kingdoms to capture him. During the fight, Hunter lost the flash drive containing the information he needed to protect.

Eventually, Cerulean ended up dueling the red panda, with Vert and Rosa leading Hunter to safety. Realizing their supervisor, a maned wolf named Maron Umber, was the one who'd hired him to deliver the information, he decided to trust them. He explained they needed to escape in a skyship back to Grand Concentra City to locate Maron since he'd never arrived at the Fjords for their meeting, and that they could charter one in the town nearby to the west. While in town, Hunter found someone willing to take the houseboat back to Grand Concentra City while they boarded the skyship, Cerulean included.

Building the Resistance

On the flight back, they heard of the attack on the Spectrum Academy. With nowhere for the others to go, Hunter offered to have them stay with him on the houseboat, explaining the conspiracy and the true purpose of their mission to them. Upon their return to Grand Concentra City, they discovered Maron among the list of those killed in the bombing, meaning the last bit of proof they had of the conspiracy was gone. They ended up living together for a year before Hunter asked them to join him as a small group of freedom fighters to expose corruption in the city, and while Cerulean and Rosa agreed, Vert was reluctant and left.

The next day, Hunter was greeted with a surprise, as Lavender had turned out to be alive. She assured him she wasn't there to kill him, but he still didn't trust her at first. However, she explained that if his plan to help the city worked, they could clear her bounty, and asked to join him, to which he accepted.

A few days later Hunter found Vert looking for work as a bodyguard in the Carbon District, a section of Grand Concentra City for the wealthy. After pointing out how he'd be entering a meaningless career, Vert finally agreed to join him. But several bystanders recognized Hunter from his wanted notices, and soon Authorities were on them. Hunter and Vert were eventually able to escape aboard the subway into the poorer districts of the city, where they blended in with the crowds. Returning to the houseboat, Hunter's team was complete.
