born in an incredibly small and rural village, crimson grew up on the border of poverty. they learned how to pickpocket and otherwise steal from a young age, allowing them to remain on that said border. the other foals in the village were always tense around them, as they did not make any attempts to be friendly. some of the braver children attempted to bully crimson, primarily about how lanky they were, but this seemingly had no impact on them. as they never truly cared for anything, they never received a cutie mark.

as a young adult, they had a particularly bad run in with a bat pony, and while that pony believed them to be dead before leaving, crimson was very much alive. they had acquired new wings - sharper and slightly thinner. being converted was hell on earth, and they vowed to track down whoever it was that left them for dead. crimson stalked for days upon days, and they eventually heard rumblings of a new urban legend - a monster that stalked and drained blood of ponies. this led them to finding who converted them, and in turn, they became the 'monster'.

they can be drawn either lanky or with more average pony proportions, though the chest fluff and colored hooves must remain. eyes are normally green, but are red during 'hunts'. the bat wing hair highlights are not optional. eyes are usually half lidded, and they do not have eye highlights. one side of their face may be obscured, either totally or only allowing the eye to poke out.
