Mocha (splatoon)

nudibranch/seahorse/jellyfish/blue-ringed octopus, probably some other shit too. is almost always in a humanoid form but can shapeshift pretty freely. highly venomous, but mostly as a defense method. He's Also Poisonous because some nudibranches are. he can control how harsh the venom is and if it's ""Active"" passively. it isn't by default cuz' he doesn't wanna randomly forget, but it probably activates when he's scared or provoked naturally. same w/ his stingers and if they sting you on touch or not.

a good Possible explanation that is dubiously canon in my eyes is that nudibranches in the splooniverse like. ok so nudibranches normally eat some venomous things or some things w stingers bc theyre immune or bc they eat like underdeveloped stingers/poisons and incorporate that into their own body as a defense mech, right? that but over time as nudibranches evolve in the splatooniverse their diet and power evolves a little more and as such they can basically absorb anything they eat into becoming a part of them, so over time a lot of nudibranches evolve with the ability to basically add-on specific abilities and limbs and shit and this probably means theres a shitton of subspecies based on what nudibranches were absorbing and eating - most of them are Normal nudibranch shit that they eat but some are whatever mochas got goin'.

basically, if this were to be believed, mocha is a mix of a bunch of sea creatures bc he Ate parts of them and it fused into him. or his family lineage did. something like that. alternatively he is just a mix of all of these things due to his family bloodline being really odd, like how it is canonically. who's to say! not him!

the two long tails on his side are jellyfish stingers sort of mixed with tentacles. they can sting you and electrocute you - he has no reason to do this to anyone really, but oh well.

he/they. usual mocha stuff. runs a cafe in every major hub area in splatoon that serves non-seafood, desserts, and coffee. well renowned, especially among those who do not want to or just dislike seafood, like him. bc he canonically dislikes seafood other than shrimp lol. he probably does sell seafood or will make it if asked, but his cafes basically advertised as " Really good Coffee and Other Dietary Options for people who dont like fish or whatever " place. his drinks and food probably give bonuses like all of it does in splatoon - mainly exp and stuff. many inklings and octolings drink his coffee before a turf war to pump themselves up.

he himself doesn't care for turf wars and probably has legitimately never played them - he grew up sheltered and his family, mainly his father, worried for his safety a lot. so. i also am unsure if he'd even be able to play turf? wait right yea part octopus. might have some difficulty w it since he isnt Fully Octarian but yk. i mean he's mostly octarian and nudibranch, it's probably fine, but he still has little to no interest in playing turf war - its way too intensive and he isn't very interested, but he does like playing with the weapons. Tri-stringer main along with other things.

i forgot this in design but since hes part octopus he prob has the suction cup parts on some areas of his hair, but much less than a normal octoling would have. they have a swirl pattern in em. honestly wherever his hair has the swirl in them you can prob replace with a suction cup and that prob just. works out.
