But after Benedict left him behind, something inside Seth cracked. The loneliness he had escaped for years came rushing back, hollowing him out. He became aimless, drifting through life until he signed up for the experiment. What emerged from that lab was not the same boy who had once folded paper swans and whispered secrets under blanket forts.

The experiment changed Seth into something unrecognizable. His body became taller and stronger, his movements eerily graceful. But the most striking change was the energy radiating from him—glowing star-like entities that flitted around him like fireflies. These "starlings" obeyed his will, acting as his eyes, ears, and sometimes even his weapons.

He adopted a theatrical persona, donning a formal suit and replacing his face with a massive, glowing star. His voice was playful, often dripping with sarcasm, yet there was an unsettling detachment beneath it. He treated life like a performance, weaving amusement and cruelty together in a way that left contestants unsure whether to laugh or scream.

Despite his showmanship, Starshine was far from mindless. He was calculating, always watching, always knowing more than he let on. He adored chaos, but it was a controlled chaos—one where he always had the upper hand. Still, there was something childlike in the way he clung to Lucian’s approval, as if a small part of Seth still lingered, desperate to hold onto the one person who had ever truly cared for him.
