Summary

sarahtoyhouse.png

Sarah is quiet and standoffish when you first meet her. She’s awkward, blunt, and easily flustered. Most of this is due to her being autistic, and being raised in a way that kept her from getting many socializing opportunities. Although her methods of communication can be off putting to many neurotypical people and thus make finding new friends a challenge, Sarah doesn’t mind much. She’s used to being a loner, and treasures the friends she does make.

Sarah is a deeply creative individual. She uses escapism to deal with her trauma and delves into fictional words, both those already made and those of her own design. She has a special interest in the horror genre, and most of the work she creates and consumes has something to do with it. She could talk your ear off about the intricacies of the genre all day long.

Sarah also developed a severe problem with dissociation as a teenager, as a manifestation of her PTSD. She loses days or weeks at a time, and often seems just a little bit disconnected from everyone and everything as a result. Although this adds another layer of difficulty to maintaining and making lasting friendships, Sarah tries her best to be there for the people that she loves. She’s willing to do anything to protect and take care of the people in her life, and will go to great lengths to ensure their comfort and happiness.

Trivia

  • Sarah’s a very fascinating character to me, and I don’t use her nearly often enough.
  • Sarah struggles a lot with perfectionism, having spent a lot of her childhood trying to meet her mother’s unrealistic expectations. She now has trouble getting the motivation to try at anything because she feels like she’ll fail.
  • Sarah is much less confrontational than her brother Seth, but she’s more than willing to kick ass if pushed.
  • Sarah is honestly really bitter and petty when pissed off, though she doesn’t seem like it.
  • Sarah’s something of a wordsmith and writes really brillant fiction and poetry.
