Joviestar

Capearthown's childhood friend from when she lived in a dream-only territory. When he hadn't heard back from her, Joviestar decided to come visit. Capearthown wasn't happy about this and told him to leave for his own safety, as dream creatures are prey to nightmares, and there were a lot of them in Capey's territory; she had also been transformed into a nightmare herself and didn't want to risk Jovie experiencing either fate. Jovie didn't listen, as he felt he could take care of himself. He hid in the shadows at first to avoid both his and Capey's guards so they wouldn't drag him back home. He became friends with Jaccarious and bonded over the fact that both felt that they were being severely underestimated. Eventually he met Ifrightmare, who had originally approached him to prey on his naivety and corrupt him, but Jovie called him out on it almost immediately, catching Ifrightmare somewhat off-guard. Even more so when Jovie matter-of-factly stated that he was "totally ready to join the dark side or whatever" just to get back at anyone he thought had doubted him. Jovie was actually hoping that Ifrightmare would literally turn him into a nightmare, but since he was already committed, Ifrightmare didn't think it was necessary. He just gave Jovie some pointers about acting the part and occasionally gave him assignments.

Jovie disguised himself and started fighting in the arena to blow off steam. At some point he fought against Robbon and Angzend, who were impressed with the new guy's skills. Robbon didn't recognize him and Angzend forgot that they were supposed to be looking out for him until Robbon mentioned it later. They later confronted Jovie and promised they wouldn't rat him out if he became the third fighter of their arena team every once in a while. When Jovie asked how they figured him out, Angzend mentioned his "true sight" and so Jovie went and got a monocle that would allow him to see like that as well. That's how he found out about the full extent of Capey's nightmare transformation, and finally started to understand her previous concerns a bit now. He was still willing to become a nightmare if the opportunity presented itself, though.
