Marty 🔒

Technically built as a DND character but whatever.

Martholomew, or Marty, is a clown that comes from a long line of other performers. His great-grandfather, a jester; his grandmother and grandfather, aerial silk acrobats and trampolinists; his father, a (debatably successful) stand-up comic; and his mother, a combat trainer and stunt double. His brother, exactly a year older, is a mime; meanwhile his sister, exactly a year younger, is an accountant and hobbyist antiques dealer.

His sister found a living handpuppet named Jazzy Wigglebottom in an antique chest, and gave her to Marty. (This is a friend's OC)

Marty and his family have always traveled together, until his sister began her own business. This made his parents decide to settle down in the same area. As a result, only Marty and his older brother work for the traveling carnival, now. Even so, it travels only so far, and Marty yearns to see the world, learn new jokes, and make more laughter wherever he does.

Marty has generally good intentions and loves to make others laugh. However, he is also incredibly gullible - he would absolutely accept candy from a stranger.

Combat-wise, he is functionally a Monk. His Squeaky Hammer is a light hammer and his squirt flower acts as a blowgun. He is proficient with playing cards and his rations consist of what appears to be the exact same carrot over and over again. He sleeps in a circus tent that appears small but is suitable for 16 to sleep.

Wacky cartoon physics are totally encouraged. His voice sounds like an especially silly Courage the Cowardly Dog.
