7oby

Literally my fursona lol I recently gave him a bit of a redesign and added some boar elements (ie, tusks) so his reference sheet is out of date now and I haven't ironed out some of the finer details of how his abilities work either just yet. 7oby started out just as a normal spotted hyena anthro but I got increasingly bored with keeping him 'realistic' and decided to just to whatever sounded like a fun idea. 7oby is a name I've gone by since at least 2004 with the first incarnation of my fursona being an orange and white cat. The 7 is pronounced like a T but I didn't find out until later that '7oby' is also Arabic for, I think, some conjugation of 'love.' 

I'll come back to this and clean it up once I get it all smoothed out so I'm just gonna info dump for now:

Appearance: 

7oby is a robotic endoskeleton with living skin over it a la Terminator, his model number is T094.X. His design, for the most part, is based off spotted hyenas. The biggest difference is his muzzle is slightly longer with a flat-ish nose, two sets of tusks, and low-set eyes that are features borrowed from wild boars. His fur is usually colored more orange or brown than natural hyena palettes but that's more artistic license than how I'd color him in a realistic style. He does have spots along his arms, back, neck, and legs like spotted hyenas with his tail and inner ears fading to dark brown. However, he does not have a dark brown muzzle because it makes his facial features blend together with the tusks and stuff going on. From the outside, he doesn't appear to be a cyborg, but he has unnatural eyes with deep grey sclera and an iris that usually glows bright red. The iris can change color from red through purples to a cool blue color. 

He usually wears a leather biker jacket with tall spikes on the shoulders (paintings on the jacket optional), graphic t-shirts, and jeans. He has a mohawk that I draw very inconsistently but that usually has a longer bit in the back (I don't want to call it a mullet but think mullet), it can be any single color or two-color gradient. 7oby's only piercing is a septum ring but sometimes I leave it out because it can be hard to make it look good lol. Sometimes he has a purple or blue denim cutoff vest covered in band/fandom patches and buttons with spikes or studs on the shoulders. The bands are mostly 1980s heavy metal, dark/occult themed retrowave (Perturbator, Carpenter Brut, Master Boot Record, etc), or power metal with the fandom patches being majority 1980s-90s media like 1e Shadowrun, id Software games, Fist of the North Star, Mad Max, etc. 7oby wears black leather boots. 

Abilities:

In his hands and forearms are holographic projectors that create searing hot hard-light holograms. The holograms burn hotter the smaller the projection with things like claws, knives, and shivs being stronger than swords or axes. The holograms cannot project weapons made of moving parts or that travel too far from 7oby's arms so things like guns, scissors, and chains cannot be projected. The holograms are usually an unnaturally bright red or pink but can appear orange or yellow for longer projections. At their hottest the holograms are around 2000 Fahrenheit (~1400C, the average temperature of bright orange fire). The holograms can and do burn 7oby's arms so he typically only uses them for quick attacks instead of prolonged battles. 

7oby's skin has faster than average skin regeneration, being a robot and all. He's quite durable and mostly immune to slashing damage from sharp weapons as heavy damage to his robotic endoskeleton or eyes is the only real way to hurt him or slow him down, since the endoskeleton doesn't self repair like his skin. A deep cut from a knife would only take about 2 days to fully heal as opposed to several weeks for the same wound on an organic creature. 

As a result of dabbling with dark occult magic, 7oby is the host of the dream entity known only as the Somnivagrant. The Somnivagrant is a terrifying amorphous wolf-like beast with the ability to cause indescribably horrific hallucinations that can cause physical harm to the person affected by them. Somni has a spirit-like consistency allowing it to float in the air or squeeze through minute gaps in windows, floorboards, etc. but it can also become solid to attack with its claws or teeth.
This is the least figured out of 7oby's abilities but my friends keep comparing Somni to a Jojo's Bizarre Adventure stand lmao.... I'll expand on this section the most once I figure out how exactly I want Somni to work with 7oby. Somni[vagrious] is my art handle with the Somnivagrant itself being a sort of secondary fursona or 'mascot' for my art so I really wanted to blend it with 7oby somehow.
