:backstory extract:
Yeon had absorbed a deity and the power was too much for her body to handle, she had taken on some of the original diety's form and in exchange, she had lost her family and could no longer vocalise words. The monks prayers may have done some to offset the severity of the curse and for limited hours of the day during twilight, Yeon is able to engulf her body in blue flames and shapeshift into a black owl or dhole form.
