In the far future, long after humankind eventually disappeared, the Psyduck species found a way to funnel the psychic energy of their infamous headaches into highly functioning cognitive abilities. They develop a flourishing civilisation, invent flying cars, and end up figuring out how to curb the space-time matter, which allows them to travel to a distant galaxy to establish themselves on a new, more welcoming planet. 

Long story short, in a very distant world - in both time and space -, a clumsy Psyduck accidentally enters the wrong coordinates on her time-space teleporter and somehow ends up on Earth, in her distant past, which happens to be our present, when the Psyduck species is still one on the dumbest on Earth.

Despite being supposedly a highly intelligent creature, she is mostly goofy and seems constantly confused. Maybe she just isn't the brightest of her kind.
