APPEARANCE / PERSONALITY
Sono is a petite individual, standing at 5'5". She has blonde hair, flanked by two large, blue bows. Instead of ears, she has feathers on the side of her face. She wears the simple Cherub Soldier outfit for the Angelic Corps, consisting of mainly white frills and blue ribbons. Her pants are puffy, and the back of her top tapers off to look like the feathery tail of a bird. She wears white stockings, and with blue mary jane shoes, the sides of which are adorned with wings. Sono has small angel wings sprouting from her back, which the other characters of equilibrium often mock for their size.
Sono usually has a smile on her face, or an oblivious expression. Her motions are usually expressive and lighthearted.
Sono is a naive and klutzy individual. She is ditzy, and rather stupid in nature. This is shown in how she bumbles into Akito's abode, and declares intent to kill him (though, in actuality, she was sent to assassinate the King, who had died 10 years prior to the beginning of the story). Sono is simplistic and straightforward, often taking things in a literal manner. In addition, she also lacks some common sense, and thinks a lot of things can be solved with abstract concepts, such as forgiveness and friendship. Nonetheless, she makes up for this with the great fervour and "oomph" she puts into everything she does. You'll never find anyone more determined than her!
BACKSTORY
Sono was born an anomaly; in a world where human, angel, and demon souls are interwoven in a universe-wide cycle of rebirth/reincarnation, she was born as an angel. This is an unprecedented event, and she was taken in by the Council of Seraphim and raised as their own. In actuality, Sono is the sibling of Akito, whose demon mother was killed while still pregnant with Sono. Faced with the decision to be reincarnated, their mother instead chose to give life to her unborn child.
With her status as an anomaly, the Council sought to use her. However, her ditzy nature, alongside her ignorance and pure heart, meant that it was rather difficult to manipulate her in the context of Heaven's corrupt environment. Thus, she was sent down to the Netherrealm to assassinate the King. The Council was hoping that Sono would be killed in the endeavour. However, she ended up getting lost for 15 years, and instead arrived when the King had already been assassinated.
After befriending the Prince Akito (who, unbeknownst to her, was her brother), Sono joined the group in order to solve the mystery behind the nearing war between their worlds. Along the way, Sono sheds her ignorance, and grows in maturity. Nonetheless, she does not let go of her hopes and idealismβsomething which ultimately affects Akito and co., as well. Together, the group teaches themselves, and each other, how to grow. Oh, and they stop a historic conspiracy from unfolding. So that's cool, too.
TRIVIA
- The entire story of equilibrium is modelled after a certain game. It was made when I was really uncreative and blatantly ripped off other works when I was like 11. I'm working on rewriting it. Sono is based off of one of the game's main characters, down to her design.
- Sonoloves the concept of love, friendship, and believes in the power of these things.
- Sono wants to be a magical girl really, really badly. Technically, because she's an Angel, she already is one.
- Her favourite food is flan pudding.
