Rhodonite was a lower soldier gem on homeworld, but she hated it. Rhodonite was a closeted pacifist, and secretly never hurt a gem during battle. She joined the rebellion during the war on Earth. During the war on Earth, the crystal gems captured a high-ranking homeworld general named Williamsite, and it was Rhodonite's job to interrogate him. She couldn't hurt him due to her peaceful nature and let him escape. When the other rebels found out though, they poofed and bubbled him before he had the chance to escape. Rhodonite took his bubble and kept it with her during the war. She finally popped it and gave him time to regenerate, and Williamsite decided to stay with her. They ran from both the Crystal Gems and the homeworld gems to get away from the war and remained close friends until they finally started a relationship after fusing for the first time. (Note: they don't perma-fuse, like garnet, they just realized how close they were when they fused.)

Rhodonite and Williamsite adopted two children and named them Apollo and Artemis. They all live in Beach city.
