Octa had a very normal and albeit dull upbringing. His father was a pastor and his mother had her hands full raising him and his many siblings. In his downtime, of which there was an abundant amount, he would read. Octa taught himself quite a good deal of skills including but not limited; medicine, carpentry, animal husbandry and farming. Religion and its practice came to him whether he wanted it or not. His father was very devout and demanded his children be the closest thing to religious leaders as they could handle. When he reached 16 years of age, he ventured out to establish a life of his own. That he did in strides. He happened upon a barely-standing town in some nameless woods and saw that someone with as advanced a skill set and his own was desperately needed. It was here that Octa made his home and thus completely changed how the way the people lived. He taught them how to grow usable crops, rebuild houses and even dig a well.

There was one area his skills was needed the most though and that was as a doctor. He made his own clinic and cured many of the town's sick and pained. But he also lost many of his patients as well. When all seemed lost, Octa would pray to the only God he knew--the Almighty. But that saved a grand total of zero lives. While he kept helping as many as he could, Octa's faith slowly faded which led him to a life of sin.

By the time Octa reached 30, he was a skilled doctor and the unspoken leader of the town, a young pup dragged herself to his feet. Around that time, a spirit, something entirely out of Octa's many areas of expertise, made himself known. Asyx, the guardian and creator of the forest in which Octa's town had flourished. Asyx thanked the man for bringing life back to his forest but scolded him for clearing trees to make room for farmland. The two had a very calm, insightful conversation and an agreement was made where Asyx would provide crops for the town if Octa made sure no more harm came to the forest.

The spirit's generosity was celebrated and greatly appreciated to the point where Octa lead the people to worship Asyx, as the only "God" he knew that took action to help people in need. A shrine was built in Asyx's honor and is the most sacred monument in the town.
