Shiva was born to a middle-aged couple in the city of Haalivara, her conception a surprise and one that neither of her parents was prepared for. They did however make the most of it, despite being too old in their opinion to raise another child, let alone one from birth. They did as best as they could though, despite still working really taxing jobs with barely any time to spend at home- but luckily for them, their much older children helped quite a bit. When her parents couldn't care for her, her older brother did, and in turn, he became one of her best friends growing up. The two did everything together when he had her for the weekdays, going to the museums and libraries after school, and sometimes even going to window shop at the many market stalls. And when Shiva returned home to spend time with her parents on the weekends, she got to travel with them to one of her favorite spots in the Isosia Wilds: Xanthe. The hot springs village was her favorite place to go, where the family could relax and Shiva could romp around and play with the local children.

However, halfway through middle school, her parents' travels to Xanthe became far and few, their work lives taking a turn into a more busy territory. Shiva began spending more time with her brother, and then even more time at home as she got older, the silence and loneliness of her empty home taking a toll on her once happy and energetic personality. She turned to watercolor painting to help with her depression, the act of creating calming her and bringing her a sense of security and belonging. Though she began to feel a bit better and less lonely, her personality remained calm and reminiscent, much to her old friends' surprise when she was old enough to visit Xanthe once more on her own this time. She still visits from time to time to paint the hot springs, selling her artwork far and wide.
