-Where do you come from? Where you once a part of a society?

My home planet is only a few light years away from earth! And yes i did have a society. Ours were a bit different. We were very much one connected community. We all are pretty much the same. There is so much diversity on earth that i never saw back home! My society was kept small by a lot of rules and regulations. We were spread out over the whole planet, each small fraction contributing trade with the others. We all benefited off the rest. There is no currency like on earth... i found out the hard way that you earthlings don't take trade for shop items. Instead, we just give each other what is needed to survive. No need to haggle there was never a struggle. Gifts, like luxury items, were given to special members of the community who have done the best jobs. But there was no real need for those. There is a similar concept here called "minimalism" I believe. Things just functioned as they should back home. Probably because of the rules. There were tons, and each new hatching was taught them all when they came out of their pod.The most strict were the reproduction laws of course. Over population is a main concern on my planet, there can't be idle hands and everyone has a role to play. In order to keep everyone fed, a single group of pods were only allowed to be created once in every year. The number of pods produced was determined by how many elders had died that year. The pods then hatched and put into schooling. From their, they were separated by calling. Pod siblings were then dispersed into their rightful places, and the world goes on.
