His name is Atlas and he's based off a blacktip reef shark, and thus is kind of on the small side for a shark mer.
He's middle-aged.
When he was younger, he was a scout for his clan and used to get into plenty scuffles w/bordering mer or those who tried to trespass, hence the scars. Now he's a dancer for all the fancy mer.
He takes pride in his new job and how the rich found him attractive enough to be a personal dancer--and it only further strokes his ego. Despite being older, he knows he's gorgeous and has grown to be pretty damn flirty b/c of it. He's also 1000% sub material despite being beefy as hell.
As far as the sharks go, their species are mainly hermaphroditic, though their society is still matriarchal due to some sexual dimorphism (females are larger and tend to have more body mass than other sharks). As a male dancer, Atlas is more or less prostituted out to the larger, dominant women who enjoy his performances, considering it a "reward" for putting on a good show. And while those are his main clients, he does get other rich mer occasionally buying his time.
Jun is one of those rich mer who buy his time, the small deep-sea merman falling head-over-heels for the pretty shark the first time he watches one of his performances. A lot of his money goes into the ""brothel"" Atlas works in, and thus he gets to be one of Atlas' main clients--except, Jun is much more interested in getting to know Atlas than sleeping with him, which frustrates Atlas to no end.
Human AU:
He's Samoan and intersex, and identifies as male. He's a dancer still in a human AU and specialises in ballet/contemporary and is a dance teacher.
Jun winds up taking his classes and falls for him despite being half Atlas' age.
