He lived in a burrow atop a cliff that overlooks a beach.

With shadow-element roots, Ley started off in life by having others constantly distrusting and wary of him. It tore him down quickly on the inside despite having a loving and accepting family. Throughout his life he had striven to show others that he wasn't some sort of evil monster that everyone assumed of shadow dragons, but he never had very good luck. He would often go to the ocean and lie on the beach to be alone and think about things, one day while he was there a female dragon landed on the beach and greeted him. He found her rather obnoxious at first but had patience and eventually found that she was a lot nicer than her attitude first shows. The two of them eventually became friends and he would be visited by her on a regular basis nearly every time he was by the beach. There came a day that she came to him as an emotional wreck and begged to let her stay with him, giving him a story on how her family hates that she sees him and that she also loves him. Being put on the spot and feeling awful about the situation he couldn't bring himself to refuse her, though he didn't share the same feelings she had for him. They lived together for a quite some time, and eventually he did start to grow feelings for her, later on actually starting a family together. Not long after their first clutch hatched the two of them were attacked by Necromancers. Ley very quickly realized it was a losing battle and in a desperate attempt to save at least one of his loved ones, he used his shadow magic to create a barrier around his nest. He and his mate were killed that day.
