Personality
Unusually bright and cheery for an elsen. He does his best to set a good example for his coworkers. He likes to dress in feminine clothing on his days off.
Appearance
Lankier than most elsen (and that's saying something). Has three tufts of hair protruding from his head. Has thick, square glasses. Wears a short sleeved shirt with a single black stripe with black pants. Also wears a black bowtie and suspenders.

Relationships
Dedan - Has a huge crush on his boss, Dedan, Guardian of Zone 1. It didn't start right away, but a few months into his employment, he realized he found Dedan to be attractive. Slowly it morphed into wanting a relationship.
Dedan invites him over to his house after a night of drinking. Dedan isn't a stranger to elsen finding him attractive, but Chester wants something more.

After months of push and pull, Dedan admits to Chester that yes, he likes him back, and they date in secret. (Though a few of the workers put two and two together.) With Chester's help, Dedan learns to be in a functional relationship. But just as the two have found their happiness, the Batter shows up. |

After the world is reset, Dedan and Chester finally get married and rebuild Zone 1 together.

Story
Fresh from the academy, Chester became Dedan's assistant after following a series of unusually frequent accidents plaguing Zone 1. Despite his inexperience, the hiring pool for assistants was wearing thin, so they took his chances on him. They half expected him to die in the first few months like the last assistants had.

They weren't counting on him to be so motivated to figuring out why there were so many accidents. Chester began sleuthing around. Soon, he uncovered a plot to create an enhanced version of the already addicting Sugar element. Several rogue elsen were poisoning workers and burning their bodies to create the new drug. With the help of Dedan, Chester was able to stop them and things returned to normal.
That is, until Chester started pining for his boss.
The other elsen often talk about him and think he's a bit unhinged because of his unusual cheeriness. The truth is, Chester does suffer from the normal anxieties than other elsen do. He's just better at keeping them under wraps.
His desk is situated outside Dedan's office, making him a kind of secretary, along with his normal duties of keeping track of the numbers across Zone 1.
"Reset" spoilers
After the world is reset, Chester and Dedan get married and rebuild Zone 1. Chester has been dubbed the Guardian of the Elsen, but keeps his position as Dedan's assistant. Chester goes around the Zones to make sure the elsen are being taken care of and their workplaces are safe.
A few hundred years later, the Zones expand too much and Chester hires Bella to replace him as Dedan's assistant so he can focus on being a Guardian more.

● He thinks he's good at hiding his feelings for Dedan, but it's painfully obvious.
● Is very adament about saying he's not trans. He just likes feminine clothing. His cross-dressing is HEAVILY inspired by Eddie Izzard.
● He's very open about his sexuality.
● Hardly ever swears. If he swears, you know he's mad!
● Cries at movies.
● His philosophy is: "if I can't change it, why worry?"
● May or may not have been named after Chester Bennington, who died a few months before he was created.
