Personality:

Kenny is a reserved man. He likes to keep to himself, and he often struggles immensely with opening up to others emotionally. This can make him seem blunt, rude, and dull, but in reality he’s a very sensitive man. So sensitive, in fact, that he internalizes a lot of what is said about him, and it tends to make him extremely emotional when he‘s alone. Despite all of this, Kenny likes to maintain a mature, put together appearance, and will often feel undermined when he thinks others are more “got their shit together” than he is.

Truthfully, Kenny is a lonely mess. Growing up, he was mounted with immense pressure from his parents to be “the best“ at everything, and this caused Kenny to begin burning the candle at both ends, developing habits he knew he couldn’t possibility maintain in the long run. By the time he graduated high school, Kenny had no social life, no hobbies, and no interests outside of intense studying. He often felt like a puppet for his parent’s desires, and while he was surely to be set for life if he followed in the path his parent’s set for him, he wasn’t happy at all. Halfway through the first semester of law school, Kenny finally reached the end of his rope. He had a frantic breakdown, which resulted in him switching colleges to pursue a major in English, since literature was the only thing he felt like he enjoyed. Confronted with his parent’s endless disappointment, Kenny has spent the last few years feeling like a constant failure, and like he has to prove himself at every turn.

Writing is one of the only things that bring him peace, but since he’s so terrified of failure, he ducked into editing as a job instead, as a safety net. His lack of social skills from never having friends growing up has left him virtually unable to make anything but shallow acquaintances, and he longs for a real friendship. He’d never admit that, though.

Likes: hot drinks, iced coffee, reading, writing, being praised, physical contact, stuffed animals, brushing his fur, tangerines, the smell of books.
Dislikes: being alone, wide open spaces, being criticized, feeling vulnerable, his parents, looking like a mess in public, small talk, loud social gatherings (parties, concerts, etc).

Extras: Kenny has a small stuffed animal collection, and he keeps extremely good care of them. He tends to sit one in his lap while he brushes his fur out slowly, talking to it about his day.
