Val Lapis

Val had as normal of a childhood as anyone could get in the city. She didn't live in complete poverty, but her family was not very well off. she was an only child, and she was the apple of her parent's eye. Being quite the tomboy in her youth, she often wrestled and play-fought with her father as a child, and as a teen, he had started teaching her knife defense.

Unfortunately, her parents were taken by the illness as she approached adulthood. being seen as un-proper by any extended family, she found herself alone in the world, taking odd jobs, getting involved in shady deals, and often finding herself in the local pubs with her "friends".

During her many trips to her local pub tipped her off to a job availability, going beyond the walls of her vast city home and into the wilderness to forage for supplies and the like- known to be a heavily dangerous job that had a high death rate. finding she had nothing but herself to lose, she decided to sign up for the job. She figures it's either get busy living or get busy dying.
