When the shadows creep over the lands, Jiro's pelt changes from the vibrant hues of nature to the darker tones of shadows. This is not just a physical change, either. His powers change with the light as well.
Even if he isn't able to see the change of day to night or night to day, he is able to keep up with time because his fur doesn't respond to perceived time or what it's like immediately around him. It responds to the land and if it's covered in sunlight or night's darkness.
