A former professor and current inventor. Under the employ of Witchfinders, helping them create devices to more safely deal with Corrupted Mages and other threats.

Personality

Inquisitive, well-meaning, cowardly. Peaceful and low-energy. Fumio is easily enraptured in his work, and while learning. It is near-impossible to distract him from an interesting project. Curiously, his sense of self-preservation takes a back seat to discovery: he will often be the willing test subject to many of his inventions. Loves kids and loves answering questions! Has a Siregalese accent, and gladly talks about home (misses it even).

History

Siregal-born, Fumio's younger years were spent learning. Figuring out how devices worked was his hobby, and one he carried with him as he grew. Moving on to a university setting, it was clear that his professors and peers thought little of his creative inventions. After all, many of his little trinkets solved problems that could be more easily addressed with Mage magic. This was a sentiment prevalent in Siregal culture... and because of that, Civil War interrupted Fumio's previously-mundane life. When it came down to a battle between the Monarchy and Mages, he couldn't choose a side. Instead, Fumio fled the violence, not quite fulfilling the requirements of his education when he did so. 

His destination was Ivras. He spent his first years there working odd jobs before finally being given an opportunity to teach. Throughout his life, Fumio continued to dabble in inventing, making a name for himself as an academic. He moved up from teaching elementary students to being tenured at an Ivras university. His most recent and ambitious problem project: inventing a mode of air travel.

Recent events-- corrupted mages, a new Archon-- have stirred up controversy regarding Mages' places in society. It created an uneasiness in Fumio, and reminded him of Siregal. The professor was approached by the monarchy and the order, who viewed his skills as a tool to bridge the gap between the strength of Mages over non-mage Witchfinders.

Fumio has agree for now, under the stipulation that he will not be required to create weapons. After all... what could he do if Civil War erupted again? This time he had to pick a side, and stop running. He works in Namarast, closely with the officially employed Witchfinders of the Order.
